there’s no point in listening to rumors since Liverpool are very unpredictable. One day we aren’t signing anybody, the next day we’ve signed someone we had no idea we were linked to.

It doesn't seem clever not to get a new CB as most of our lot are injury prone. However, we already have 2 LB's & RB's so Gomez doesn't really need to cover them if he's a CB.

This assumes Trent doesn't play in midfield, otherwise we have one RB in Bradley, with Gomez as cover, but if Gomez is cover for CB, he can't also be cover for RB with only one starter in that position. Mental the club isn't thinking of signing a CB

Wouldn't surprise me if we dont sign a CB knowing our penny pinching owners. A few seasons ago we went into a season with 3 CBs and they were content with that so according to them we have 4 even if some are injury prone so the story is very believable.

Spot on - linked with Van Den Wen for months last year - no doubt because of Schmadtke who signed him - and did nowt. He went for an initial 34m: a 6' 4" rapid, left sided footballing CH. And we're still two midfielders down on last year. Looks like Arne is going to have to plait fog - just like Jk.

Maybe Arne has plans for Trent to play RB with Connor as rotation/backup and keep Kostas as Robbo backup, leaving Joe as centre back/rotation? For me a right sided forward as successor for Mo and a real high quality DM are my priorities, although Stephan might just be that. Ha, Chris just said the same thing about defence.

is this not madness lol we have 4 cb VD , konate , gomez , quansah , we have 2 rb and 2 lb . arne style seems to be more patient and structured so less intense than klopp , new fitness coach and probably less intense training because the gameplay will be less intensive . also edwards / hughes are doing transfers so as in the past unless my memory is deceiving me things were quiet back then and i see no reason why they wont be again , good for liverpool the club but dodgy for the transfer rumour enthusiasts lol .

Fact is our current defense was NOT good enough to win the league. Our defense was bad. That's a starting back four of Robbo, Virg, Konate, Quansah, Trent and for part of it Bradley. I like them all but fact is that back 4 wasn't good enough to win a title. We conseded early and often. Thus for me, you need changes. Maybe that's Bradley as nuts as it seems for solidity. But fact is if you want to win titles, you need to improve your squad and fix areas you were failing. So I'm thinking without change how can we expect any better a result in the league table? Maybe they can fix it on the pitch. I'm not sure.

slot needs to manage van dijk konate and quansah's minutes next season, they cannot be played twice a week every week for months on end or they'll start breaking down and when one goes down thats even more minutes for the other two meaning they're more likely to get injured and suddenly it's an injury crisis in the most critical area of the pitch, we cant muddle through another season with defense like this, if they do it' like summer 22 all over again and this time no Klopp to take the blame for it all.

The whole “no players in the market” thing is irrelevant. Rodri wasn’t on the market when City bought him. Just because a player isn’t up for sale or potentially up for sale, doesn’t stop teams going for them.
