Very beautiful, but extremely expensive. Kids that don’t have money don’t enjoy the schools there.

It makes me sick and worried that people are still promoting Lake Oswego as the place to go for their school district. The schools may have great academics but the sense of ‘community’ is rare. Often times if you’re not smart, thin, rich, or white you get set apart and picked on because you don’t fit in with the ‘norm’ of the populars. I’ve experienced the horrible bullying issue in Lake Oswego first hand. They claim to have no tolerance for bullying but when I came to a counselor for help, they didn’t take me seriously. It wasn’t until I revealed that I was in the hospital for mental health and PTSD issues that they actually listened. There may be pros to living here but I think the cons outweigh the pros.

I couldn't agree more I am currently going into 7th grade and already have way too many bad memories from school mainly because of teachers and the staff

""The black kids immediately started bullying the white ones"" ----Funny how "Marina Montez" disappeared and isn't around to respond to this. Maybe she's in her padded rubber room with her mental issues. Only the blacks can bully nowadays not the other way around so to the SJW (social justice warrior) left wing liberal trash this is justified........

HOITY TOITY LAND! ("snobbish, haughty, condescending, disdainful, patronizing, snobby, conceited, proud, arrogant, supercilious, superior, imperious, above oneself, self-important, overweening, lordly, lofty..." all full of Chi-Chi boutiques and "cute little shops") Or as we like to call it, over here in the unincorporated part of town where all the working class people live: "Lake lost ego", "Fake lost ego", and the HISTORICALLY TRUE epithet: "LAKE NO NEGROES" given that LO had CITY ORDINANCES specifically prohibiting PEOPLE OF COLOR from taking up residence, or even being caught within in city limits after dark, on penalty of incarceration! Even as late as the early 1980s I would be stopped by Police "Officers" on my way to work (I look like and I am a Native American) and told, when I asked about it: "we don't see YOUR kind of people around here very much". And, oh, the "lake" used to be a large pond/swamp that Chinese iron foundry workers enlarged, with much back breaking, hand labor for water power for the iron works. As soon as rich people saw how beautiful the Lake was, and it's potential real estate value, they kicked the Chinese OUT to Oregon City. THOSE are the kind of people that live in this neck of the woods. (PS "KILLED OFF MOST OF THE NATIVES", owing your prosperity and living on land stolen from the people YOU KILLED, THE HISTORY OF AMERICA, a history of SHAME)

The Lake itself is owned by the Lake Oswego Corporation and is private. If you don't own property on the lake don't even think about swimming or boating on the lake because you could be arrested.
