Loved the wildlife and the trees in Sacramento. The town was on the boring side, but it seems to be getting better.

Coffee Scene is really good if you are into that. The Running community is huge and the parkway (as you mentioned). Great video, agree with your statements!

Just a note, unlike a lot of the country this year, Sacramento only gets an extremely rare 115 degree day a couple of times in the summer. More like a week or two of above 100 to 108. Dry heat with +30 degree drops at night due to the glorious delta breezes. Maybe Gold River is warmer. That's a good 16 miles east of downtown Sacramento. And we are known as the Farm to Fork Capitol for a reason. Go check out Mulvaney's or the Kitchen or Moxie's. Swabbies, the Vault, Wildwood. I think you have a lot of exploring left to do!

SF restaurants have declined post Covid. Prices have increased and quality has dropped. Would be great to have you share your top Sac Area restaurants, cafes, bistros etc.

I agree 100%. I just commented on the price and food quality. They are super stingy about napkins, water, and portions. Believe me, I live in SF and I'm a foodie. I don't even eat in SF anymore. I only eat in Sac now but even Sac is getting expensive.

Mark, I have to correct you about restaurants especially in San Francisco. There are many many restaurants now closes early and the quality aren't what it used to be. I know a few chefs have moved here from Chinatown and retired after a few years here in Sac. It's expensive and the portions are small in SF. San Jose still has good food but definitely not in SF. I know, I live in SF and Sac.

That’s a shame. I use to love going to the Bay Area for food. House and Nan King & Cha Cha Cha were always my favorites! I love that in Sacramento we believe in big portions of food :-)

Such a Great Channel Mark !! Thank you for your video ! I am planning to move to California and I am deciding which City to move, I am a Latin Man and in order to start I am going to look for job opportunities as a waiter or Server while I Study . Taking into account the cost of living , public transportation at the begining , the wages and the gastronomy scenario in Sacramento...Do you think is it a right decision to move there? I appreciate too much your answers and advice!..Thanks :)

i needed a cup of coffee before diving into this one. If you are coming to California and want a city that has a realistic barrier to entry then Sacramento is pretty solid. Again if California is where you are headed. Now that being said you need to be close to downtown/midtown to be close to the restaurants and bars where tips are HIGH and you can walk to work because public transportation is limited here :(. I’ve been here 5 years. Moved up from LA. Here’s my experience so far. - The summer heat is bad but it’s bearable. You just don’t go out when it’s 115 degrees outside. Also worth noting, the hottest time of the day is at 4-5pm. I thought that was weird because in LA, the hottest time is at noon. So by 7-8pm you might need a light jacket. Not in SAC though. - The traffic is nothing compared to LA. At least the freeways move. In LA, you’re pretty much parked on the freeways. - The restaurants are garbage here. If it’s not a chain restaurant, then it’s an overpriced restaurant. Not much diversity either. Only one or two restaurants here have impressed me. - Yes there’s awesome outdoor activities here. I’ll agree with that. It took me awhile to get used to the vast open fields everywhere. - I think people are lazy up here. Like driving from Elk Grove to Roseville is like pulling teeth. People up here just stay within a 10 mile radius of their home. I just don’t get it? - Everyone thinks they’re black here. It’s pretty ghetto. - Housing has gone up. I don’t see it going back down either. I wouldn’t look to buy a home in the city of Sacramento. It’s too close to crime and homelessness. I’d live in Folsom, Granite Bay, Roseville, Rocklin area. - Big name artists don’t ever come to Sacramento. You’ll have to drive to SF or San Jose to see Taylor Swift. That’s all I can think of right now. Overall, it’s not bad here but it’s not great either. If you’re from LA, I’d describe Sacramento as a big Rancho Cucamonga with more blacks. ✌🏼
