Hello lovlies!! It's here!! It's FINALLY here!! the recipe that so many of you all have been requesting ever since I started this incredible series.
You all asked and so my mami and I are here to deliver! and what better time to share this recipe than now!? its Tminus 4 days until Christmas, so just in time for the ultimate Navidad Borinqueña! My Christmas present to you all! Feliz Navidad! Merry Christmas! and, of course, BUEN PROVECHO!!
Ingredients for masa *makes about 3 dozen pasteles
15-20 Green Bananas (peeled and diced)
2 lbs pumpkin (peeled and diced)
2 lbs yautia (Taro o malanga)(peeled and diced)

2 Medium Potatoes
2 Tbsp Achiote oil • Ep. #3 the VeganRican ...
1/2 C Sofrito • Ep #1 the VeganRican |...
2 Cup of water
2-3 Vegan chicken broth cubes
2 1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 Tbsp Goya Adobo
1 tsp Goya sazon
1 Package Pastry wrapping paper

I love it girl yaaasss this is a authentic Native American inspired recipe, my family also add cumin, all spice,oregano,coriander,culantro/recao Etc as main seasoning ingredients with all types of vegetables as fillings, but this is spot on very good. I also love that you are vegan and promote a healthy,compassionate,mindful lifestyle as this is the best way to live! I hope you continue to make good content I wish you LOVE,HEALTH,HAPPINESS,KNOWLEDGE with love from London

I'm from the south of Puerto Rico and we do it differently, but I love everyone's different style of making pasteles. I personally I make the pasteles con guineos, yautia y calabaza.

6:30 Yes, I recall that hard work and the physical pain if you didn't mind your hands. Days leading up to Christmas my family would get together on the weekends and we would make pasteles. Forming an assembly line. My mother, sister, 2 aunts, and I peeled and grinded all the starchy vegeteble by hand. My father mixed and seasoned the masa, put the fillings in and wrapped them. Then the finished ones would be packed or cooked by grandma in the kitchen. We had pasteles pre-made for the first 3 months of winter. It was like a Korean family getting together to make kimchi. My sister called me asking if we could make some for this holiday and I sweated a little becasue I recall the pain. I hope my food processor is strong enough for it. I never wrapped them before. That was dad's job. Pray for us.

We never put ketchup. We used hot sauce. Great recipes. Delightfully perfect! Gracias!

Our PR family and friends never had them with ketchup. We always had hot sauce sprinkled on top. I do love the recipe though. Muchas Gracias 😊

How to make sure the pasteles dont fall apart and fill with water? Thats what happens to mines. I did 4 so far. Still tasye good but when i open it up the pasteles was not whole and fill with water. Any suggestions . thanks.

Elizabeth Jones the paper really does help with that and also making sure that you tie them tightly so the seams are secure against each other.

The recepie its good except you guys put chicken broth and its not vegetarian you should put veggie broth.

No Ketchup!! Did you know that ketchup is to make bad food taste better. If you went to a steak house and asked for ketchup, they would throw you out! Thanks for the video.
