Do you know what I love most about sharing any and all my projects on here? Your feedback! And the fact I have no shame or problem admitting where I messed up or am in the wrong. In this case, there was a lot that needed to be fixed since it was NOT functional. You guys give the best feedback and I took a ton of that (if not all) into consideration when executing this update. She cute but not functional and we don’t want that. So although today is not a DIY, it is a realistic update of a past tutorial. Hope you enjoy xx.

Happy Thursday my beautiful humans! I am feeling so excited and pumped for the content rolling out the remainder of this month. I really can't believe this in my "job" so a quick shoutout and a thank you to the real MVP's ...you guys..for supporting me to continue to do so. Today I wanted to revisit a makeover that ended up not being so functional after all. Believe it or not I do try to respond to every comment which means I see all the feedback you leave as well! I decided to walk you through the in's and out's of my small closet for real, use your feedback and DIY a realistic update. Ok now I need to get back to two other makeovers - loving you guys xx.

As a small idea for super "dressy" items of clothing; I have all my formal dresses etc. in a suit bag/clothing bag, so my closet seems a bit more organized, the long dresses are not in the way and they do not get dusty (since I now only see one big black bag instead of 10 different colourful items)

As much as I loved the new layout, the back of my mind the entire time was wondering if Cali was going to make an appearance. I love your interaction with her. It always touches me. I truly believe our dogs give us absolute unconditional love with no judgement whatsoever. Unlike our human counterparts. How do you get Cali not to pop balloon?? Fascinating pup with an awesome fascinating owner. Lots of love and good vibes being sent your way. 💕👍🙏🌹

Ok but like your notes on making a space for YOURSELF being the most important, rather than based on a KZfaqr or Pinterest board, is 100% IT. I get so inspired by others but often it’s not my style or use. And ‘too lived in’ is also it. Man, you’re on the money.

I just need to let you know what a tremendous positive impact you've made. I've been paralyzed to start any updates to my home--I'm talking tiny movements like painting and hanging things on walls--for fear that I will screw up and/or hate the result and then be stuck with it. You are constantly showing that the process is fluid -- you can screw up and fix mistakes, you can redo/update previous changes, you can be confused, you can learn as you go, you can work in your robe(personal fave), you can question yourself, and most of all you can do it all by yourself. Thanks for removing any pretense and being vulnerable and confident enough to show us real life. It has been invaluable.

I moved into a 'grown up communal living situation' 2 weeks ago as well...at age 40. After living in a rather generously sized flat alone for 15 years. Long story...but so far...I'm perfectly happy. I let go of a lot of material posessions, I didn't really need and instead of feeling deprived, I actually feel 'rejuvenated', if that makes sense. Suddenly life is all about new options and possibilities and instead of scaring me, the uncertainties of life suddenly feel like an adventure. Life sure is funny sometimes! I do agree, though...underbed storage and clear bins are a must, if you're downsizing ;-))

This room gives me such zen vibes. I like this closet so much better because it seems so much more accessible. Where I live in Europe we mostly live in apartments where it's normal to have a smaller closet space so we don't put all of our clothes in out closet because it's too overwhelming so instead we change our closets over seasonally. So, what we aren't using in winter or summer we put into storage.

This is maybe a weird thing to say but I absolutely adore how the personal nature of your voiceovers, super honest and no bullshit, goes with the almost intimate, super real scenes like you wood glueing in your dressing gown at 3:50 or looking for the pencil that is BEHIND YOUR EAR at 11:05. Been there. Feel it.

Okay, like damn. Every video you do I get more & more attached to your channel! I love that you did an update and took viewers' comments into consideration! One thing I LOVE about this makeover is that it's cozy and it's your style but it's not messy & lived in, I don't know how else to explain it other than like it's a hotel room but it's not. I absolutely love that vibe because I'm trying to accomplish the same thing with my room, I need it to be a sanctuary because my work and school life are so crazy, but I also like the little touches of me! Also your all white bedding is just giving me so many good vibes! PS. Also want to see a video on your in-room workout routine!!

One of the bonuses of moving into a smaller space is that you realise the things you use all the time....and what you have just cos :) I find that whe I've done a big "cull" that I feel lighter, like all the "stuff" is no longer weighing me down :) I still LOVE your bedroom make over, I also like (although would never have thought of it) not having the doors on the closet

i've been struggling with my apartment i moved into recently. nest to the kitchen is a linen closet (that we never used) so we converted it into a pantry. It had NO lighting so its always been so annoying, but this video finally gave me the answer!! LED STRIPS!!! (although we are getting the "smart" ones since we have several smart lights and a google home) this was the best way to find our much needed answer thank you so much!!!!!!

HOW DO YOU NOT HAVE 5 MILLION SUBS?? Legit boggles my mind because you are hands down the best channel I follow. Every video is like a zen dose of inspiration and ambition for the day. Can't wait to see you get the audience and status you *so* deserve on here. It's going to be soon!

For understanding storage I used my old chest of draws as the frame was cracked, I pulled the draws out and put wheels on the bottom and they are amazing, they look better and are easier to get out and in, I have 4 large draws and 2 small draws. They hold mine and my partner's shoes and bed sheets and the little ones hold all of our big fluffy socks and slippers 😍 ... Love your content 💗 xxx

I have the same size closet and I was going to attempt to do that original closet design but realized it wasn't functional for my space. Still haven't gotten around to redoing the closet but that top thing is genius. I have ton of little backpacks and fanny packs, with some S hooks I totally see it working. Really loving your space!

One important note about those flexible under-bed shoe storage things - they're really only useable if they're completely full. They're a major PItA to manhandle around without the structure of shoes completely filling it. Like, they'll fold and bend and shoes will slip under the dividers and it'll just be a big mess.

I love how humble you are. You admit things aren’t working as well the first time so you redo to be functional. I know I can relate to that and I’m sure a lot of other people can. I hope you realize you validate a lot of us.❤️

My general tip is to know how you operate. Personally I don't do any folding clothes storage - I try and grab one thing and something else falls out and I don't want to refold it or I'm looking for a very specific pair of black leggings and I have to unfold everything made of black streachy fabric. So rather then having shelving in my closet I have all hanging space, and I even hang leggings, workout shorts, etc. It's not the most aesthatic thing but I've tried organizing so many different ways and that is the only way that doesn't eventually devolve into a mess. From the number of organization videos I've watched I'm guessing my complete inability to keep folded clothes neat is a me problem and not a general problem, but I think it's also important to realize that just because you've seen ten youtubers all do the same thing that doesn't mean it will work for you.

Ok it's 5am; I've been awake since 3; I have no idea what I'm going to wear; and I have to take the bus to work today and I am somehow leaving this video feeling fully tranquil. I love the vibes, love your attitude and the way your mind works. I love the little tips that dont specifically apply to what you're doing but rather highlight the need for viewers to think about their space and plan for functionality over vanity.

Oh, you know what would be really cool? A sort of bench by the bed foot, with doors opening downwards to store your shoes. Like Kelsy from The Sorry Girls did in her living room It might get a little cramped, but it would save energy, at least I find it annoying having to take it out the shoes bags Anyway, is just ideias kkkk But I love your work, especially how humble and human you are, you don't need to share your mistakes but the fact you find it important to us means a lot, thank you 💙

Looks great! This was really helpful, I'm about to put my small closet together and needed to get some ideas. I'll probably head to my neighborhood Habitat Restore to look for a dresser (in fact, I live in a Habitat for Humanity house and have worked over there.) I really enjoy your down to earth communication, some people are so annoying that I can't watch home styling/diy videos that I'd otherwise be interested in! I'm definitely going to keep up with your channel! 👍

Maybe rethink the hangers - the thin velour ones would give you more hanging space because they're so thin and the velour keeps clothes from slipping off; just something to consider. I changed out all of mine and what a difference. They come in many colors, aren't that expensive have them at Walmart & the Dollar Tree, and many other places. I like your videos, they are direct and to the point, easy projects and inexpensive. Thank you.

This might be an odd comment but I love how even though you plan on making this space temporary, you make it meaningful. I feel like I tend to think like "well, I might move out someday so why bother doing this, this, and this". It makes anywhere you are a home

You go girl. A $ suggestion: as great as home goods and ikea are..ross is like insane. I go there first when I'm looking for decor, or furniture. The prices are so much better than other places. The quality depends on the item but it's generally really great value and you can often find steals. Dollar tree DIYs are also a thing if you're really wanting to save. Blessings!
