The way I found my fiancé was when I gave up on everything. I stopped looking for answers, I stopped looking for hope (In all senses of the matter) Then she showed up....and everything made sense. We became such close friends.. then soulmates SO quickly.. They were my other half. I RELAXED about not finding love... and allowed for space for my heart to grow. Because I let my heart grow, I was able to breathe.. and it all felt natural. Also I feel like when you loose your keys and you stop looking... they show up right in front of you in seconds! It's a perception thing... They're there. You just have to stop and allow yourself to just "be". It'll all work out

My sister is still single right now and shes 30 this year, she have suitors before but she never settle to a guy she don't like. I can relate to this so much. I'm gonna be 24 in a couple of days and I've dated but I've never had a serious relationship. It kind of makes me feel like crap about myself a lot of the time. Especially with my brother and sister always being in relationships, and my brothers four years younger than me. I'm also so resentful of my friends and family who are in relationships, I try to be supportive but it sucks when it's not happening to me. I'm trying to work on worrying about bettering myself and not focusing on finding a significant other now. I like to think when it's meant to happen it will happen.

I have pituitary dwarfism, which just means I'm teeny tiny, but fully proportionate. I'm a halfling, really. I have halflingism. More Hobbit than anything, without the hairy feet. Anyway, I wanted to thank you for sharing this. I've only had one serious relationship my whole life and it was forced. I wanted to love him, because loving myself was so much harder. 18 years later, I'm still single and still having a hard time loving myself and this is why I can't find anyone. I'm working hard on it. The truth is, the HONEST TO GOD TRUTH is, we've already found that "perfect someone." It's ourselves and we need to love ourselves the way we want someone else to. I pray for my future wife too. I made all the same mistakes. God's timing is perfect, where I get in trouble is when I'm impatient or trying to stay in control. I also have a health condition and have had some success, and I find myself questioning the girls intentions. So far I've stuck out over and over. If you want what you never had, do what you've never done. For me that means loving myself, trusting God, and being patient.

I’m 28 too and I feel like this is such a strange transition! We’re still technically young but thinking more long term and on a more serious level. The tolerance for shallow interactions is low so going into new situations the mindset is totally different than it was when we were younger.

Here's the thing. There are things that people like to believe are true and there is reality. Everyone wants to believe that there's someone out there for everyone. But it's not true. My 2 older siblings aren't married. And they're above 40 years old. Never had children. It's not like something is wrong with them or anything. One of them is even a doctor and gets a really good income. But he still hasn't found his life partner. Whether people like to believe it or not, looks do matter. Your physical body does matter. It's not only about personality. And hey, what if someone looks unattractive and has an unattractive personality at the same time? Yep. That would suck.

I have not dated much -in fact- I began "dating" just last year. I'm constantly being rejected and I too am the only one of my friends and cousins who has not had a boyfriend yet. I can totally relate Lizzie! I just turned 23 a month ago and I have never been on a date or had a boyfriend before. I felt just like you in high school watching all my friends go on dates and have boyfriends. I wanted it but I was never asked on a date and I never had enough guts to ask someone out. In college I was so focused on school and meeting and making new friends as I was in a whole new state. I never dated anyone and yet again I watched my friends go on dates and have boyfriends. I have now been out of college for over a year and I often think about how I really want a boyfriend. My brother has been dating his girlfriend for six years. She was his first real girlfriend and they have stayed together and will probably get married soon. This sometimes makes me feel bad about myself. But the other hand I do believe that God is planning this all for me. He knows who he wants me to meet and when. There is a reason he is keeping me from dating and that some day I will meet him and God's vision will become clear. I don't know when that day is but I continue to pray and trust God.

At this point in life I don't want to pursue dating nor do I want to marry because I choose to enjoy life as it continues to run its bipolar course (; If I do happen to meet someone, then that'd be a cool surprise I wouldn't mind experiencing. It would be another blessing to make it count. I personally admire the qualities that make up an independent woman. Why should one aspect be able to summarize one's place in life or be given the power to stigmatize? It's sad how some societal notions have standardized norms on what people "should" have and do by a certain time. Anyone who deviates from the criteria is mostly perceived as someone who's lacking. That in itself is shameful. Society glamourizes the mentality of once we gain x,y,z then we will be satisfied.
