those joule numbers are where the Byrna LE is supposed to be. Salt Supply S2 is doing what the Byrna LE advertised to do (but byrna failed at it), and they are doing it at $200 less than Byrna. Byrna should be ashamed of themselves.
@lesslethalfordummies2 ай бұрын
I still love Byrnas trigger pierce but their launcher is over complicated and non serviceable to the end user which hurts big time. Salt did well with this launcher making it inexpensive and easy for the new to LTL crowd to get started.

@@jeremywilson6938very hard to believe as everyone who does chrono vid tests on YT demonstrate a huge drop in FPS after the first shot. The first shot gives over 400 FPS, yes, but after that its a big drop off. And I am using byrna kinetics 3gram rounds with their CO2.

Awesome test! I took the liberty to check your average 6 round joules on your second test using the Grimburg projectiles and compared it to my test using Byrna projectiles. Your average = 17.71 joules, mine = 17.85. Even with different weight and size projectiles these markers are spot on! The Byrna LE is all over the place from marker to marker it seems, the SD is Byrna’s most consistent in my opinion. Thanks for sharing!
@lesslethalfordummies2 ай бұрын
Well thank you for doing that average. There are no fancy regulators or springs inside this Salt. Just a chamber valve and a bolt which should provide consistency launcher to launcher, co2 temp probably bring ming the largest variable.

Hey Sean love your videos! I just got my Salt Supply S2 on Friday love the power. The one thing I am getting used to is how BIG the grip is. I was getting aggravated by having to put it on safe to release the mag so I removed the interlock arm in the marker and now I can pop the mag out any time.
@lesslethalfordummies2 ай бұрын
Awesome. You think this grip is big 🤣…try an FSC. Did yours come with grip tape? I did try removing the interlock at least on my first version and it would occasionally spit the magazine while under firing so i reinstalled. It does offer addition securement to the magazine. I would keep an eye on it if that starts happening.
@Steve-ez2fr2 ай бұрын
@@lesslethalfordummies I really really wanted an FSC....but the fact I could not find a 12gr mag for it made me give up on it. My S2 did come with grip tape, the good thing is when I pealed half of it off to open the marker it reapplied nicely. As for the interlock I have probably gone thru 10 co2's so far without issue. The one other thing that's a bummer is mine shoots Really high so the fixed sights are useless. Fortunately I was able to put a laser on the pictainy rail so I'm glad they included the rail.
@lesslethalfordummies2 ай бұрын
Maybe ill try it on this one. A few have mentioned shooting high and i wonder if that little barrel play might be the cause.

That was really cool of them to send you the real deal. I hope the mods you did on the other one work just as well in the S2. It's a shame that they could just stick another jar of Kinetic rounds or even the practice rounds in the kit since they can't send the Pepper rounds. Looks like two 5 round mags are the limit of the CO2 if you want safe stopping power. I'm looking forward to seeing the LTL Charlie when it becomes available as I really like the Bravo. The two biggest upgrades I've heard about are that it'll load like the S2 now which will much faster to change mags and it's s going to be hitting harder 20-24 Joules instead of 18-21 Joules. Sometime simple is rhe best way to go so it doesn't break as easily and is easier to upgrade 😋
@lesslethalfordummies2 ай бұрын
I agree simple seems to be the best in this market. Many are new users and dont need to be discouraged or overwhelmed with tuning a launcher. Ill have to have a closer look at LTL lineup when the new one is released.

@@lesslethalfordummiesSad news... I got an email from Chiappa and the LTL Charlie release has been pushed back to mid summer they hope. Great video. Welcome to the S2 family! I got mine back in February after watching Jon Renolds review on his channel. Depending on the day this or my FSC go in my work satchel and the other stashed in my vehicle for backup. It’s weird how you had no grip tape on your launcher. The tapes ok, but I have a Houge grip coming from Amazon when they are back in stock. DK makes a good point about that grip added to the S2. Try not to break it like he did his first one.😂

Heavier weights tend to carry the most energy into the target. 10g Riot Balls and 8g Grimburg Juls are my favourites. I did just test some 7.5g aluminum balls and they did quite well but jury is out because they can become unusable if just practicing with them. There are so many types but those 3 above are some of the roundest balls. Many other balls have visible seams which can affect accuracy and power.
@j.r6656Ай бұрын
@@lesslethalfordummies thank you so much from what company bro 🤔
@lesslethalfordummiesАй бұрын
You can get Riot Balls and Grimburg Juls from Less Lethal Defence (Homewreker) or buy Grimburg Juls directly from Grimburg Less Lethal. Both companies have websites. I would avoid buying Riot Balls direct from Riot Ball as you usually have to buy 100 or more and that can be expensive.

cool, but I'm not seeing huge differences from the "preprod" model (trying to be respectful here). perhaps an extra spring or lever in the mag eject and/safety with one minor cosmetic change on the exterior to protect the safety (and a touch of paint). all good ideas, however, I believe more innovation could have taken place for the American market since the power and reliability seems to be the same as the first - waiting on the next vid to compare internals! these .68s are massive and don't do it for me as carry defense. tried the LE with the bellyband and it felt ridiculous! uncomfortable all day for an average of a whopping 12-14 joules. risk/benefit doesn't play out.
@lesslethalfordummies2 ай бұрын
Well i can say after fighting the early models ejection problem, this is an improvement that i would take any day of the week. Everyone always complains about the size of these 68cal pistol. It shoots a near 12ga projectile via air in a hand held form. All launchers still require a barrel of sufficient length to keep them in a useful range of velocity and internals to suit. There are physical limits to how small it can be made and thats just the way it is. Price point and reliability are whats going to win over the crowd. At the end of the day no one wants to send their launcher in for repairs and based on what I have seen i dont think they will, or at the very least could perform the repairs themselves. Launchers dont last forever without some form of maintenance. Plan is to have the disassembly video up before the end of the weekend. 👍🏼
