Stoney is just one of countless hidden gems scattered across his albums. Roland Kent Lavoie was a consistent hitmaker between 1971 and 1976 and although I love all his hits, there are plenty of superb album tracks to enjoy as well. Calumet, his third album(1973) may be his finest overall and Stoney is an obvious standout track.

Lobo is a writer and performer of some of the finest Country/Soft Rock songs ever written and his sound is a relaxing, comforting one. Sure, it's a lonesome sound but it's such a haunting one.

The sound of Lobo is a lonesome, solitary one. Fitting to my own persona. Maybe that's why I'm playing him on a regular basis! Stoney, however, is an uplifting song with upbeat lyrics yet set to a down to earth beautiful haunting melody.
