You never know maybe the demon clown has night vision and blinded him for FIVE seconds… also maybe the ritual is time sensitive and being blinded for a second or two could make the evil mime miss his cue and ruin the whole ritual.

I've watched the opening scene (which...was somewhat a closing scene, but whatever) three times. I was just so impressed by how natural and just...smooth it was. Really well done.

I was thinking the same thing !! The dialogue at the beginning sounds super natural and talks as if it was just a normal conversation, lots of potential for the people involved :]

My issue is the guy not using the power outage as an escape. Like you're outside your trailer, screw the power. Just lock the gate and go home. Or not lock the gate and explain to Amy that there was a demented serial killer chasing you hence why you forgot to lock the gate again.

So like.... you would have at least one large af scar proving that someone stabbed you and that you weren't making stuff up. Meaning they could have just noped out of there without hardly any repercussions.

Yeah, the animation was great! Even the lip syncing was done really well. I know a lot of developers use that program that tries to animate the lip motion points by listening to the recorded dialogue. It's...okay, being honest here? Barely serviceable. You really have to go back through the output and manually adjust everything to make it look good. I wonder if the devs did that here? It does cut down on time, and lip syncing is EXTREMELY difficult to do anyway, but it's more of a starting point in my opinion; if you have the budget a pass over of lip synch should really be done. If you want a look at what the program I'm talking about does you can watch the "transmission" cutscenes in Warframe. The lip synch is pretty awful. The full cutscenes in Warframe are gorgeously animated, and they do spend the time making sure the lip animation is perfectly aligned. Watching them side-by-side you can immediately see the difference.

The dude was so, SO, well made! If they told me it was a filter on a video I'd almost think about believing it.

Yeah. at least give us a QuickTime event there too. I kept on waiting for Manily to light up the flashlight or anything. right into his eyes and he's all like, "ahhh my eyes!". that would've been funny.

Playing this myself I found a few more issues, 1. you don’t need to worry about him while you are holding the book, 2. there is no need to be stealthy you can simply do the quick time event, 3. you don’t need to get the UV light the last page can easily be done using brute force. 4. I beat it without ever having to go in the fun house. 5. The game does a terrible job explaining what you need to do with the book, I can tell Manley didn’t do any of the puzzles near the start of the book and it’s making the game harder and longer for him. The game was pretty easy I beat it first try and I only got hit once.

I talked to the dev about it, the Ending and lore gaps on other parts were just time limitations since Dread X Collections are semi Game Jam formats. They did have more planned.

The clown spawning on top of you made the stealth mechanic super unclear. There are icons for how much noise you're making and how visible you are, but you have no opportunity to learn the practical significance of the different levels. It was especially unclear since the game kinda just makes it sound like "hold ctrl to not die", and that's clearly not how it works.

That can easily fall into the indie horror trap where the monster is just a slog to deal with.

Welp, gotta add in those management mechanics. Since tech and mech knowledges aren't really easy to come by, I'd appreciate if you could share some methods of depicting electronics correctly that also benefits the game.

Well, honestly it's not that I hate the game in case I gave the wrong idea. However it does bug me how electricity works in horror games. I'm gonna summarize this as much as I can, and please forgive any grammar mistakes, this isn't my main language. Really, all you need to do when power gets cut off is go to the main panel or the subpanel that fired and just restart that one breaker that controls your area. either the breaker controlling the subpanel popped or the breaker in the subpanel controlling your area popped. Now if it's a house, most likely it's just a single panel.... so one breaker should do the trick. If we're talking about a kilelr or monster cutting off the power, then it was most likely a wire cut off... so... go repair it with tape if the main character is in such a desperate situation. Of course always using some sort of protection to not cook yourself lol. Most games tend to just magically shut off the power... And there is never a reason for that event. True, the antagonist could've just turned off the switch, but that's an easy fix.... So a good suspense scenario would be that the antagonist made a short circuit somewhere in your house, like shorting an outlet with a piece of wire. So if you go and reset the breaker it's gonna pop back immediatly, forcing you to explore the area the antagonist sabotaged and figuring out what the hell he did.... (of course you could add a glow to the problem or sparks just so it's visible and players don't have to do much science to fix the issue, otherwise the game will be frustrating) Or another scenario would be that the antagonist just cut off the main supply and after figuring it out you have to find the proper tools or make-do to fix it. Again, it doesn't have to be 100% accurate to how you should fix it, cause it'd be boring. It should just be close to reality.

@@creqmpufff3069 Electrical tape is rated for low voltage which is 0-600 volts. But the best thing you cand o is a splice with a proper connector. However, if you are in a horror game, just a roll with tape should fix your issue. But if you ask in real life, just do a pigtail splice, of course if the wire is thicker than 8 awg it's gonna be almost impossible. if it's a main, it's just better to replace the whole wire, at least in my opinion.

I agree. The voice acting was very natural and real. The layout was amazing. It was maze like and very much like a real carnival. Game mechanics were fine but contradicted eachother too much. The plot could have been better if executed properly. They just really didn't try to put the unsettling and thrill of horror factor and the mechanics were a bit stupid. It started out great but then just felt like you were shooing away a crackhead later with no logic behind the . It's still a really good game to be about a vampire clown. But yeah. Just felt could have been better if they tried to make it more sense and unsettling
