Hi Pouse, love the videos and been a great help for me on my roof build. Can i ask how you dealt with the external corners on your dormer please? I am going to slate my dormer cheeks the same as yours but i cant see anything on how to make the vertical external corners water tight. I am thinking lead underneath wrapped around. Any advice appreciated, cheers, Doug
@POUSEaroundtheHOUSE
@POUSEaroundtheHOUSE 4 жыл бұрын
Hi Doug, yes that's right. You use lead soakers in reverse so to speak. Lead then slate then lead then slate and so on. Cut your slates to leave only a small amount of lead showing in the join. If you use patination oil on your lead it will go a nice dark colour and mine just blends in with the slates. If I get my act in gear you will see it in upcoming videos. Hope that helps. Good luck with your project.
