+KayJay Piru! I'm so glad that you can read his mind. >_> Honestly, it would have been better if Logan had killed X-24 and then died of his wounds. But the point of the movie was that Logan's time has passed; so X-23 killing him makes thematic sense.
@RodxSsk7 жыл бұрын
I think that maybe it wouldn't have COMPLETELY ruined it, but I freaking loved the way they did it, showing how much Logan is broken inside and out. One thing that I do think would be ruined by Delrith's ideas is the scene where Xavier dies, that was such a tragic sequence, showing the audience that one of the last things Charles sees is a young Logan putting his claws in his chest. Making the professor struggle wouldn't make much sense. PS: This whole sequence got me fucked up...

But then again, Logan said not to be "defined by those who created you" or something along those lines. I think it was "don't be what they made you." So for him, he is an Xman, instead of Weapon-X

del wanted a badass fight scene at the end. how the fuck is Logan, who has an almost non-existent healing factor, who is aging, weak, and has adamantium caused osteoporosis gonna beat a younger version of himself who is almost in his prime? like wtf, he didnt even try to understand how fucking sick Logan was
@kartoar83867 жыл бұрын
Well, for how he could fight X-24 is the serum he used to kill the mercenaries for like 2 minutes.
@arcadestickgaming66017 жыл бұрын
Kart Oar i cant tell if you're joking or not
@ActuallyJozu7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I think using the serum again or having it still in him would be so fucking stupid and horrible. It would have been so cheesy if Logan had killed X-24. However, when they first showed X-24 I knew they were gonna use the adamantium bullet on him later in the film, so that was kinda obvious to me. Unlike Fat Fuck, I really liked Xavier's death actually. Although it was slightly predictable for me from the beginning of that scene. I just knew that wasn't Logan he was talking to. I didn't think he was gonna die in the movie at any point until he actually did though. Having him seize to death, as Fat Fuck asserted, would have been horrible. Fat Fuck said he could of had a seizure and held back X-24 long enough to let them get away, but I don't think he realizes that his mind attacks affect Logan and Laura also, so it's not like they could just hop out of there while his brain is freaking out. Also, it would have been too heroic of a death for a character they've been setting up the entire film as a semi-senile feeble old man with ALS who accidentally killed the X-Men because of his seizures.
@kartoar83867 жыл бұрын
Dont get me wrong I also think having that ending would be stupid. I was just answering Narutos question for how he could possibly beat X-24 and him using the serum would be the only way.
@arcadestickgaming66017 жыл бұрын
Kart Oar yeah true but it would've only lasted less than 5.minutes cause he took it all at once.

In Xmen Origins: Wolverine, Logan is shot in the head with an adamantium bullet, he does heal, buthe loses his memories in the process. What if X-24 regenerates, but without any memories of the children or the director. So it's this new, younger Logan becoming a drifter, trying to find out who he is, much like how the original Logan was.

This Wolverine isn't capable of human emotion. He was hardwired with intense rage and hatred. He's representative of the inner beast that Logan has been fighting all his life.
@MrMrArago7 жыл бұрын
You guys seem to forget that X-24 regeneration ability isn't as good as Wolverine was at his prime. It showed that his regen ability had problems when the farmer guy rammed the car into him and after he shot him in the head a couple of times. It wasn't until the the guy with the liquid came and injected it into him that he started to working again. While Wolverine in his prime wouldn't need it at all. And with the help of the adamantium bullet at the end, I think he's dead for good unless some other guy jumps up with the liquid from no where and inject it on him, and even then I doubt it will work cause his adamantium skull blasted to pieces, if he was Logan than sure he might have survived, but he isn't logan but an inferior product of his prime.
@dannyboy1637 жыл бұрын
you guys aren't getting the symbolism of the final fight. x-24 is a manifestation of Logan's history. His nightmares, his memories, his past. it all finally caught up to him. Logan has been running his entire life, but in the end, you can't outrun your past. he was eventually consumed by the very rage he used his whole life to "hurt people".
@tehCostHD7 жыл бұрын
dannyboy163 bruh... that's awesome. Amazing point of view
@ericraktiprakorn79357 жыл бұрын
It also symbolizes an end of an era. The X-men are gone, and now Wolverine is too. The golden years are long gone, but the legacy of the X-men and Charles Xavier survives through Logan. Ultimately, it's X-23 who finishes the fight with X-24, and not Logan himself. This shows, more or less, one generation of mutants has ended, and a new generation of mutants emerge with X-23 in the lead. And X-23 will likely continue on following the example Logan during his last moments and become the legacy of X-men

Delirith is missing the point of Charles' death. The Charles' time had passed, the scene where he was putting the horses back, shows how much control he lost of his powers. Not to mention he has become nimble, his death scene was supposed to be heart wrenching not "bad ass." Before Charles' died he was talking about how he was responsible for everyone's death and that when he finally got a taste of what it feels like to be in a family, he didn't deserve it... Literally seconds after he says that he is stabbed. Also he can't just "trigger a seizure" at will, it not only hurts him but everyone near him (especially humans), so for him to trigger a seizure to save himself (even though he can't do that) is selfish, hurting the people that took him in (and X-23). To make him commit a final act and that final act being selfish, just ruins him as character, especially after all these years.

@shadow456777 жыл бұрын
Brian G I agree with you but can you explain how the horses and him losing his power correlates with each other?
@JoshBlanksby7 жыл бұрын
I actually found the horse scene to be showing Charles to still have *some* control of his powers, but only when he's calm and under control with meds.
@stevennovak29377 жыл бұрын
phatboy210 The film doesn't suggest he has lost all his powers just that he can not control them properly anymore and most of the time he is drugged up. If he had no power he wouldn't cause a problem when he had the seizures. With the horses, at that point he seemed very calm and maybe this allowed him to think clearly plus maybe mind controlling animals is less challenging than humans due to their brains. Just my take anyway.
@KingOfMadCows7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the seizures are supposed to be a complete inversion of Xavier's hopes and dreams. Xavier has always used his powers to connect with others and help people come together. His greatest dream was to create a world where humans and mutants could live peacefully together. But his own body betrayed him and turned this great power that he always used to help and heal people into a terrible weapon that killed everyone he cared about and destroyed his dreams. In the end, all his great hopes for the future are gone and he dies with this sad little fantasy of sailing away on a boat. That's about the most tragic death you could possibly think of for Xavier.

Del talks about a more symbolic death, but I felt the death scene already was symbolic. X-24 represents pure Wolverine, everything Logan hated about himself at this point. X-24 is a savage killer with no remorse, and Logan is confronted with himself at his very worst. X-23 represents hope. In her Logan sees himself but better, somebody who can lead a rich, full life, one hopefully free of the bloodshed and pain that being the Wolverine had brought him. Like he says to her, don't be what they made you because ultimately despite having escaped weapon X Logan did end up being what they designed him to be: a killer. And so in the closing moments Logan's hope, the best parts of himself personified in his daughter, kills the Wolverine, the darkest aspect of Logan's personality. In the end love kills the Wolverine. The simple truth is Logan could never win this fight because the one thing Logan could never kill, as hard as he might try, is that part of himself. It was always there. Weapon X didn't put it there, it was already there. In the end...the Wolverine dies. And then the man, Logan, dies too, but at peace.
@jjk107 жыл бұрын
WGB i like your idea of logan killing. the part of his personality he doesnt like (x-24) and the part he likes (x-23) living on

"So this is what it feels like" :( Coming off of what you wrote, that final quote he said to X-23 had practically 3 different interpretations: 1) This is what it feels like to be a father 2) This is what it feels like to be able to die 3) This is what it feels like to be free from my past This movie is such a deep final tribute to Hugh Jackman

yellow wolverine suit? come on man. Here I am immersed in this epic grounded movie, and you want him to be in a cartoony spandex suit, and completely remind me that this is just a fictional character. I consider myself to be a nerd, but I recognize irrational nerd desires when I see one, and this is definitely one of them. Irrational because you want to distract mainstream non comic book audiences with cartoon nonsense that adds nothing to the value of the movie and satisfies a niche of hard core comic book nerds. Satisfied because of nostalgia from their own previous personal experiences, and nothing to do with the movie.
@cable5277 жыл бұрын
Zee Nyte costumes might make sense in some movies. it obviously doesn't here. Logan is an old man. Not in his prime, running away. He can't afford to wear a loud bright bengle tiger outfit. He needs subtlety, discretion, stealth, etc. Not only is the costume impractical in every possible way, including stealth, but it doesn't even hide his identity. it doesn't it make any sense in the story for him to be wearing it. He's retired a long time ago. He kept trying to turn down requests for help from someone trying to save the life of a young girl because he's rather be Xavier's caretaker. That costume makes absolutely no sense whatsoever in this movie.

y'all don't understand. Why the fuck do you think the movie is called Logan, and not Wolverine? because it's not about the hero, it's about the man behind the myth. Logan wasn't Lauras hero, he was her father. Does anyone actually think Logan has ever truly felt like a person deserving of that title. *No*. most of everyone he's ever came to care about is dead. he's haunted by the his memories of the Weapon X program. You guys are trying way too hard to view this as a regular superhero/marvel/x-men movie and it isn't that at all. It's a shame that James Mangold (the director) wanted to tell a unique, singular story that he didn't want to be held down by a franchise and everyone is making it that. It's a damn shame. This film is a masterpiece and on another level to anything else in the genre. It's not even close in my opinion. The only movie that comes close is The Dark Knight. 9.5/10.

Wow just,wow. Logan was one of my most anticipated movies of 2017.It met my expectations and even exceeded them.I had never seen an X-men movie that emotionally fu*£ed me up. The moment the movie started I knew what I was in for, the R rating-oh yeah! The chemistry between Logan and Charles was better than ever. The young actress Daphne Keen who played x23 really impressed me. The movie had great action,story,look and music.i really tried to hold in the tear til the end,but I failed 😢. Hugh really went out with a bang.I LOVED every second of this movie.

So apparantly no one notices the size difference of the adamantium bullets between origins and Logan. In origins, they were smaller. The one in this movie was considerably larger, which is how a giant ass chunk of X-24's head got blown off. The larger size was probably ensured by Logan.
@zXRageKillerXz7 жыл бұрын
Logan pretty much is a man that wants to die and forget his past and when x23 shows up it was pretty much a reminder of his past that explains why he had nothing to do with her and when x24 comes into the picture it was more of a man Vs the beast so X23 is the Logan he never became killing the terrible awful monster he always saw himself as. that's what I believe the message was behind this film.

Only two flaws I found. 1) The car argument scene when logan leaves the hospital. He shouldn't of have took her to eden just to 'prove her wrong'. He should've took her because charles wished him too. Having it just 'prove her wrong' ruins the upcoming scenes of touching moments and what they just went through. 2) They never resolved the sunseeker ambition. In most movies when the hero wants something, it's resolved by the end. Nothing major, I loved the film. Logan is the golden standard for marvel films as The Dark Knight is for DC films.
@Epic4reelzgaming7 жыл бұрын
Slade.way7 For the sun seeker I just thought that was the ultimate goal for wolverine that he obviously didn't get, kinda how some people want to do something before they die but never get to, just trying to make the world feel real.
@baylaust7 жыл бұрын
I think the Sunseeker was resolved when Charles was murdered. The whole reason Logan was after that was so that he could take Charles far into the ocean, where his seizures can't hurt anyone, and they can live in peace. With Charles gone and his clone dragging him to Eden, he had no reason to go for the boat plan any more.
@MonTheWell18867 жыл бұрын
2 wasn't a flaw. He wanted to live on the boat in the ocean with Charles and maybe Caliban?. Once Charles dies logan is almost completely broken and I'm pretty sure Charles says something about the SunSeeker before he fly dies. Logan then takes Laura to the ace where he kids meet at and then he wakes up they've all left and he sees they are in trouble and he runs to save them. In the end he gets beat by a clone of him from when he was in his prime, which dies by X23 shooting him. If you think about Logan wanted to get the SunSeeker and live with Charles where he can't hurt anyone. At first he doesn't want to help Laura/X23 but in the end Charles dies, Caliban dies, he does but gets to have a moment with Laura before he dies. Thinking about it the movie is better to this way as it's not a generic super hero movie which ends all happy and it makes it sadder that Logan ended up losing everything but saved Laura/X23.
@Tejroe7 жыл бұрын
Slade.way7 Logan is the golden standard for gritty realistic superhero films, but not Marvel films, as Marvel usually takes an upbeat approach to everything. Avengers is the golden standard for Marvel-style superhero movies
@Lp-eg7kz7 жыл бұрын
Siegel By The Bay Well, no. The Dark knight handles the realistic, gritty tone much better with the fact that everything in the film is quite possibly real. Not a man with metal bones or set decades in the future. So if we're talking Golden Standard for realistic, gritty superhero movies. The dark knight takes that. Also what you're referring to is Disney marvel. You've seen Iron Man, when Marvel studios weren't Disney. That's pretty dark and gritty. Logan IS the golden standard for Marvel. It's showing us just how good marvel can be, if you genuinely believe Avengers is, I question whether or not you've even seen logan.

Is it safe to say that x 24 did not heal as well wolverine in his prime. They were giving him the green juice(apple drink) to help him heal after the first fight. Wolverine in the 1st movie took the adamantium bullet to the skull, that shit got stuck, wolvie didnt remember nothin. 1 bullet to the head of x24BOOM half of his head gone! wtf did they coat his skeleton with aluminum. Plus comic book logic says that once adamantium hardens the only metal that can destroy it is antartic vibranium. lol im a nerd.

I was reading through all the comments, hoping someone else picked up on this. If X24 was pinned to the farm machinery half the night and hadn't re-healed his face by the time they pull him off, and needs the juice to heal, then he's not coming back from having half his head blown off in the woods without anyone to come to his aid anytime soon. However, they surely kept documentation & materials to make another X24.

Jonathan Swain I really really loved this movie. I'm no movie critic but I have a few issues with this one. 1 I would have loved a flash back of the professor's first seizure. maybe for the opening scene even. and how Logan was involved during that. also I would have liked this movie to have taken place closer to the Westchester incident.

Dafnee aka Laura aka x23. They need to keep the same actor, give it a few years so she can grow up and I'd really like to see her in an X23 movie around like 2022 2023, I think if they tried replacing her with an older actor to push the film out earlier it wouldn't have the same feel. The actor Dafnee (don't know her last name) I think has a lot of potential, I enjoyed her in this film, and I think she could be perfect if they made one or two X23 films.

@eatme9827 жыл бұрын
I would have personally preferred it if Logan had stumbled away from the fight after the kids were safe and laid down by a tree facing grassland. Then Laura comes and sits with him and he knows that its over for him. So she cries, but then they sit together and Logan closes his eyes. Then Laura gets up and looks at Logan as he slumps over. Then they do the burial thing. That way the other kids wouldn't just be standing around awkwardly, it would just Logan and a child who represents the life he could have lived and the life he can still save.

Sorry I felt that I had to step in on this review and correct some of the stuff you guys said. 1. X24's motivation was explained, it was shown not told. After the farm scene, the scientist is giving him a serum and goes off about how he'll make him stronger and feel better. You can definitely see this working as X24 calms down, showing a sign of respect. This later proven at the end when X24 see's his dead body and rages out, slicing that car door in half as Logan's trying to choke him. Come on Delrith. 2. Charles did not kill the X Men. He killed alot of civillians. The scientist guy was the one who wiped out most mutants by making sure they weren't even born. No mutant has been born in 20 years leaving the old X men to die of old age or for them to move on from the school since there is no one to teach anymore. 3. Charles did not go out like a bitch. Please stop bringing Delrith to these reviews.

The end was perfect guys this movie is about redemption and the life Logan never had a character who's lived so long but never had the best parts of living. the end is him finding what it is to live as he dies to care again to embrace this child as his.but also that the killing he's done has marked him and he couldn't have that life but he could die to save the important part of it x23 his child. To give her a chance not to have to fight as he had to in his life. The lines from the old western Shane used by x23 at his grave says it all
@Trewq797 жыл бұрын
Well said. It was a very symbolic ending for Wolverine. It's just my personal preference, but I kind of wish this movie wasn't so dark. Every mutant got wiped out and Xavier/Logan spent their last days running from being murdered. Kind of a sad ending to the mutant story if you think about it.
@finwow7 жыл бұрын
John Smith it's and end to there journey but they make there end to give these new mutants a new beginning
@Trewq797 жыл бұрын
That's true, there are still a few mutants who fled successfully. But I still don't think any new mutants will be born, so as far as I know they are the only mutants left. It's just a big change from past movies, back then there was a thriving school of mutants and now there are only a few survivors left who are fleeing the country.

Lilslicky123 Agree joes movie reviews are just bad Like If I want to watch a movie review I'm not coming to angry joe cause he's a gamer and has a basic knowledge in this area Just go to someone like collider etc But joes game reviews are above all else the best on KZfaq just stick to that

holllldd upp.......now am not saying the movie reviews are bad, I enjoy them. Am just saying that I agree that Del shouldn't do movie reviews anymore after this one is all. its like on the movie review for Suicide squad....he was adamant that when Harley was in the club, the bottom text said she murdered Robin. but it really it said..."Accomplice to the murder of Robin"...kinda got to me that one lol. not even DC would mess up the murder of Robin

I enjoyed the ending but thought it was going to be darker. Logan mentions to the kids how that green vial will make you go crazy to which the kids say only if you take all of it. I envisioned Logan injecting the vial, going crazy, killing x-24 in an epic fight and being unable to come down from his deranged state, pleads to the young girl to kill him with the special bullet.

Joe Garza yeah thatll be a lot darker.
@BradF0367 жыл бұрын
Joe Garza that would have been cool, however realistically I don't think that would happen. old Logan vs. his younger self at his peak performance? no match. I thought it was a better ending than that would be, as much as it hurts to say.

Disagreed with Delrith on pretty much everything. He seems like a *"but in the comics"* kind of guy

One thing i particularly liked about the mutant children was how their powers seemed brittle almost? They were displayed in an unnatural sort of way, like what the kids are tapping into shouldn't exist. Like the amount of effort and strain it puts on them to bring out their power. I really like how they handled the powers in this movie with how wrong they felt (outside of Logan, Evil Logan and Laura's). None of the kids displayed any finesse in their abilities which was good!

Lumpyrox That's just the gamble you have to take with child actors

Hey, but were is Stan Lee in Logan? There was a Stan Lee in Deadpool teaser :v
@Captain63137 жыл бұрын
actually when i saw the movie they cut stan lee out of the teaser. also it would have been really corny to have stan lee in Logan. im glad he wasnt in it.
@soularous87937 жыл бұрын
As corny as having Stan Lee would be...they actually could have fit him in during one of Logan's limo runs. He wouldn't have to say anything funny or whatever. But I do agree it would be corny.

Benjamin Francisco Tapia Rostran I thought it would've been cool if Stan Lee was in role of the doctor, and I say that because the doctor was very concerned for Wolverine when in urgent care

The part where the black farmer pulls the trigger to shot Logan, but his gun is empty, right before falling dead, seemed really powerful to me.
@jasonjoy94697 жыл бұрын
Ministry of WrongThink Yea he just lost his Family, he wanted to do it because Logan is the reason. but it's also powerful because the only thing that can kill him, is the darkness inside himself that he always ran away from. and when Charles said "I finally understand you Logan", it was symbolic that the dark side of Logan killed Charles.. in that moment Charles finally understood what Logan was running from. it was himself above all else.

The ending, with James saying, "So this is what it feels like...", and Laura turning the cross over on its side so it looks like an X....the feels.

Del needs to stop complaining about how the comics did it better than the film. STOP JUDGING THE FILM OFF THE MERITS OF THE COMIC... it's an adaptation for a reason, and you can't base your critique off the source material

The parts where Logan and X-23 were fighting together were some of the coolest parts of the movie to me. What a great symbolic passing of the torch.

X-24 couldn't heal from major damages if I recall from the film. He was able to talk small hits, but if a large one like when he was shot in the face with the shotgun he couldn't heal from it and required the drug.

I'm completely disagree with left guy. His idea of how movie should have ended was completely generic. I'm glad that Wolverine didn't defeated x24(?) Because through out the movie they showed us that Wolverine is in bad health condition & him to win fight because he took some drugs is the most weakest Asspull IMO. Glad that movie didn't take that route. Kid Running from bad guys is bad??? Just because you took black belt in Karate does not mean 7 foot guy chasing you without weapon will not gonna make you shit your pants.

I think the film is exactly what logan says about the comic books : in the real world people die. And its true, the characters that die in this movie do not have a heroic death they just die. In a moment youre alive and in the next you could be dead. Logan lost the fight and got killed, there was no "omg saved in the last second".

Why didn't you guys bring up the amazing soundtrack for Logan?

That albino was an ok character too. Good addition to the movie in terms of dialog.
