OK, you go invest in China. Look at stock market returns in the top 500 US companies over the last 15 years and compare them to China's top 500 and tell me where any sane person would put their money.

They have a long way to go to be fully developed. Current Chinese GDP per capita (per World Bank) is comparable to Russia's at ~$12,500/yr. By comparison the US's GDP per capita is 5.6 times larger and the EU's is ~43,000/yr. This isn't to say that China doesn't have a large and relatively wealthy middle class. However, China's middle class makes far less than most westerners and they still have an enormous number of low income people mainly living in rural areas, estimated to be 477M in 2023.

The average earning in china per annum are like 10 grand. That's not developed, that's some cities are developed and the rural centres are backwaters. China relies on population too much, and we all know how that's going.

Except those development figures are manipulated by numbers released by the CCP. Even those numbers are looking bleak after the housing mortgage crisis that occurred and it’s current issues with deflation due to decreases in consumer confidence. For a country that tried so hard to look developed, they’re anything but (except a few cities like Beijing and Shanghai). Imagine attempting to buy a house only to be told it would be completed in ten years, then finding out your money was used to build someone else’s home without the companies having funds to build yours anymore. That’s what we call a Ponzi scheme but with houses.

Western market also crash every 10 years or so. Opportunities are what you make of it. But what funniest is those who contribute and achieve absolutely nothing, still unemployed and use said GDP to feel better than others. I doubt some poor rednecks would actually care about average Chinese when they dont even care about average Americans living paycheck to paycheck.

One thing to note about Chinese debt is that it's kinda similar to Japanese debt - almost all of it is held inside China itself. This applies to both govt. and corporate debt. So unlike a country like, say Sri Lanka, China isn't gonna bleed money to the outside world. Quite the opposite in fact - China is currently the world's largest creditor, with nations all over the world indebted to it.

Bro, this video was not really educating. Look at the msci china. Trust in the chinese economy is EXTREMELY LOW. The biggest sector of the chinese economy (real estate) is fighting for survival. The 2nd biggest chinese real estate group (Evergrande) just got liquidated a couple of weeks ago because it couldn't repay it's 300 billion in debt. Lots of other chinese real estate companies are fighting for survival too, such as the company Country Garden. On top of that China just entered DEFLATION means that consumer prices are falling. And that is because chinese people themselves hold back, they spend so little money that the prices are falling. Because of that China will rely even more on foreign trade. Problem with that: Europa and the USA are both on the brink of recession, meaning they import less and at the same time want to reduce their trade with China in preparations for a conflict with Taiwan. However, the United States is still BY FAR the biggest destination for chinese exports. Meaning: If the United States goes into Recession, China will too. That or the chinese housing market collapses first. Which will lead to similar economic downturns as in 2008. If you want to profit off of this situation I can suggest you to invest in a China ETF now or in a couple months but NOT expect any profits for a while. Most likely it will probably go even more into red. But looking on a 10 - 20 years perspective, this is of course a great opportunity to invest into China. But only in the LONG TERM.

Chinese foreign students typically have terrible English, while Indians have English as a second language. This is a bigger deal than people give it credit for. There's a reason the top global universities are mostly in English-speaking countries - the US, UK and Australia. They're still beneficiaries of the British empire.

I am Chinese from HK. Typically Chinese is not good at teamwork. They try to fight each other until there is only one surviver so the winner can take all. At least this is what I observe in many different Fabs I work for years. Chinese has great technical skills in general but bad communication skills. That is why many/most of them could not promote to manager/CEO. Indian has far better communication skills that is why so many Indian CEO in the states. This is based on my experience.

It's the US work visa which is very hard to get (basically only qualify if you have extraordinary skill or your employer sponsors you). Lots of poorer countries also benefit from their citizens earning an inflated US salary and sending money back as remittences.

I have never met a foreign worker who were not allowed to work in US by their parent countries. Usually it is US preventing them from working.
