Ever been told that to clean a pot, you should just shoot some contact cleaner in it? And the problem returned shortly after? DUH!! That's how you ruin a good potentiometer.
The correct way to clean them is easier than you think, and lasts wayyyyy longer compared to any other method.
Join me on a step-by-step guide to PROPERLY cleaning a Logitech pot.

it would be better if logitech made closed pedals instead of leaving the whole shit open so they can farm dust and shit xD

To put it simply, you're great. You rock, man. My throttle is perfect now. It's funny that after fixing it, I remembered I had one spare potentiometer once I used a third-party load cell installed in the brake pedal.

Really good video, very well produced. Like many other people I have removed, dismantled and cleaned my G29 potentiometers several times, swapped them around, etc. This is the first time I have seen this CRC Di-Electric grease so I will get some and give it a try. I'm surprised your video hasn't caught people's attention. Thanks for putting it up.

Cheers man. Glad you find it helpful. The di-electric grease helps preserve the pots I feel. Keeps dust off. Makes the pedal travel feel slightly better too.

After doing this procedure my pedals are working great so far! I only have one small issue, my pedal wont go past 95% but its no big deal since I recalibrated it. I just have a quick question, is there any trick to reassemble the potentiometer fully centered so I get the full range of motion detected? I assembled it as shown in the video paying attention to detail but it seems kinda hard to get it 100% on the right position
@coriscotupi

If you took the trouble to remove the potentiometer, just replace it with a new one of the same resistance value. Theses things are dirt cheap (like US$1) , there's really no point in trying to disassemble & clean.

what are the specs of the g29 potentiometers?
@coriscotupi
@coriscotupi 5 ай бұрын
@@Cesar-os5iv Don't know specifically, but its easy enough to grab a multimeter and measure the resistance between the two outer contacts. It's probably in the 33K to 150k Range, linear taper.

This right here I tried but really the best solution is to just get the AXC sim brake mod and potentiometers since the pots are sealed on both of them meaning no cleaning is provided. I’m getting both of them this coming Friday so yeah. Everybody that owns the Logitech g29/g920/g923 should get this mod really the price for both is very affordable and you don’t have to clean it since once again the pots are sealed so no dust can’t go in really. Anyways yeah everybody from all over uses it and it’s been reviewed to be VERY GOOD which is why I ordered both recently so just go for it everybody!!!

@realcrazyhenkie
@realcrazyhenkie Жыл бұрын
With 'wiped it', do you mean you removed the dielectric grease afterwards? It would make sense, as the grease is electrically insulating; therefore, preventing functionality of the potentiometer.

G29 pedals not working now. I watched your video & did my pedas just like you said but pretty sure I've got To much Grease on the all pots because I used my fingers..When I hooked it all back up after cleaning & over greasing. No contact, power, when trying to calibrate pedals.

I don't suggest to tare everything apart if you don't have serious issue with your pedals. I had flickering on my break pedal. Seeing from a different video, I just opened the enclosing of the pedals and sprayed and cleaned the break potentiometer several times without unscrewing anything and it works perfectly. If it still doesn't work, you may go further. Other video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jLGXY81zyrbDnGw.html

@UbeydullahGungor Yeah, this video is for the people that already did that, and then the problem came back after lots of use. Cause that isn't the correct way of cleaning them and this one is, they last way more than that other "fix."

@Akira-kd6us
@Akira-kd6us Жыл бұрын
you check the input of each pedal and if any of them is flickering, it's time for you to clean the pots. Honestly, you should just clean all of them since you made the effort to take it apart. But that's IF you are confident in yourself that you can do it without braking it, if not just let someone else do it or spray the cleaners from the gap of those pots instead while pumping the pedals.

Static electricity, attracts dust n all kinds of shit particle. Just look at the back of your TV's! So... Regular maintenance/cleaning is a must part of your racing. Use anti static cleaning materials and always... Dry Electrical contact cleaner. Not oil based lubricant, such as WD40 as oil, attracts more of what you are trying to avoid.
