well, the TVA aren't particularly a fan of Thanos. maybe the TVA had some sorta bargain with the Eternals, and they said "Thanos must not live" or something like that. TVA allowed Thanos to snap away half of existence, because it was meant to be; and then they needed the Avengers to bring that other half back; but five years after the fact. also, you can bet your sweet back end that, if the Avengers didn't take all the stones back to their places of origin, the TVA would be hauling them in as well.

I like how Loki repeatedly tries to stand on higher ground when talking to people. Even before going into the room with Mobius he stopped at the top of the ramp. He also tried to stand up during their conversation to make a point. However, when he got humbled, he was sitting on the ground while Mobius was standing.

If Loki didn’t take the tesseract, Tony wouldn’t have had the scene where he met with his dad. The TVA didn’t stop that branch of time.

Okay I get that loki wasn't "supposed" to pick the tesseract up According to the TVA but, well, afterall he did and that led to formation of an alternate time line. So now weren't Tony, Cap and Scott IN that alternate time line? Wouldn't they also get reset when the Minutemen reset the the alternate timeline? AND were Tony and Cap "supposed" to go back further in time to get the space stone according to the TVA? Because if that were true then it would only have happened because they lost the tesseract to loki🤷

Just because the tesseract was meant to be lost in that timeline so they would have to go to the 70’s to get it and get it from Tony’s dad doesn’t mean Loki was necessarily supposed to take it

Personally, i think that Loki escaping was actually meant to happen. I think that someone high up in the chain of command, possibly one of the time keepers themselves, fudged the flow of time just enough so that particular variant of Loki could escape, thus leading Loki right into Mobius's hands where he could help the TVA take down the evil Loki. I mean seriously, if you put the tesseract at Loki's feet, he is going to pick the damn thing up.

Maybe according to Timekeepers Tesseract was supposed to go to Thor's feet, and then he would teleport himself and Loki to Asgard. But probability influenced this event and Tesseract came to Loki's possession. Cause if I understand correctly, only timelines of infinity stones are fixed and everything else is flexible.

What stuck out to me is Renslayer says to him "It's not your story, Mr Laufison. It never was." Which is true. He was always part of someone else's story. But now it IS his story. Is it possible Loki's true destiny is to be the chaos that a strict bureaucracy can't have? That Loki's true glorious purpose exists outside of time.

I agree I always think this, as Loki is supposed to be an agent of change in mythology and he is always reborn. I have this cannon where he was never supposed to die permanently in IW, he was supposed to survive. But Kang needed him dead so he couldn't continue to mess up Kangs control as Loki is unpredictable. The universe needs chaos, so many many lokis keep trying to break free leading to pruning. However this time Kang allowed him and Sylvie to get to him for the next stage of his plan.

Or he knows that if he interferes, the world in which he got the opportunity to go back in time will no longer exist, he won't be able to go back and will then cease to exist

That's a good point. For a STL to even exist it would have to propped up by other timelines that serve as anchors. So WandaVision and defeating Ultron had to happen, for all of this to stay afloat. The only issue is, by the fact all of that happened, branches potentially would exist for every major decision leading up to either of those points. Nexus events btw don't have to be officially declared nexus events, to have bearing on kangs plans. He certainly knew about more Nexus events that he never gave his subordinates a heads up on. Which that all just supports the idea that Kang also had no clue wtf he was really doing. He only knows that there is a threshold and how to get there from many instances of trial and error.

I never liked the "cap lives in the background" version of his second life, but given how TVA work, I think it is a good explanation now. Perhaps Cap did try to alter and prevent all those events, free Bucky etc. but these created variant Steves that the TVA pruned, since it would alter the sacred timeline. I now think both interpretations of Steve's time travel second life are equally plausible now.

Logical to take the variants out of their normal clothes in case they are dangerous (like prisons and jails), while also illogical because I'm sure someone wanted to make sure they weren't dehumanizing variants before they were ultimately vaporized. Humans can humanize anyone and anything, so that makes sense to me.

Right. The mere existence of the TVA means no alt timelines, no multiverse. The TVA erases the variant timeline every time but with Loki. I think Loki is caught in a multiverse time loop. Like this Loki is an origin story for the Loki he will be chasing.

@@6dayzofchaos584 Not exactly. The Time Keepers unified the multiverse under the *_banner_* of ‘The Scared Timeline’ to ensure each reality maintains it’s own proper flow of time. The TVA’s job is to monitor those universes and prevent branches from forming so another multiverse war doesn’t occur. The Loki we know is chasing a variant Loki from another reality who’s causing branches across the multiverse.

Those little time grenades they use to “reset” the timeline just destroy the entire universe in that timeline. Those timelines still exist, they’re just neutralized by having nothing in them. This prevents powers from arising in those universes that can challenge the power of the TVA and the time keepers. The “sacred” timeline is the timeline that won the multiversal war. It’s only sacred because it is the one that ultimately produces the time keepers and the TVA. It’s only tautologically sacred. Only events that lead to the existence of the time keepers are a part of it.

What's interesting is how the TVA is responsible for the scarlet witch when you think of all the things that "had to happen" for wanda to become the scarlet witch. And how thanos was the one to fulfill the darkhold prophecy and "forge" the scarlet witch and the only way that could happen is if thanos won by killing vision, and the avengers lost but then avenged everyone and brought Wanda back. Which is all part of the "sacred timeline"

This is a great point. Conveniently, by preventing multiverses to thrive, they are constantly reducing and controlling the amount of nexus beings that can exist at one time, constantly ensuring they remain in power. And its quite clear by the decorations of their base that remaining in power and having complete authority over the dictation of time is just as important to these people as the order they claim to procure. Logically, it shows that this rogue loki who is killing their agents, is most likely not on board with their form of order for one reason or another, and the lokis will probably work together to change this.

Ok here's an idea. Maybe the TVA is less concerned w/ PEOPLE and more concerned w/ the INFINITY STONES. Loki Variant brought w/ him a Tesseract Variant, and maybe THAT is what the REAL problem was. (Evidenced partly by the drawer of infinity stones). The avengers weren't in trouble b/c they put the stones back, but Loki introduced another copy of the space stone and maybe it's "alternate infinity stones" that cause multiverse problems moreso than "alternate people" - which would explain why Cap didn't break any rules going back to Peggy, etc. Thoughts?

Sounds reasonable, having an infinity stone definitely can break reality and mess up timelines bc they are powerful especially when you have them all...the same reason why Thanos was supposed to see the Living Tribunal in deleted scene

Actually i think everything was happening until Loki picked up the tesseract, like once Hulk knocked down the future Tony and he would have dropped the case with the tesseract, and would have had to go back further in time. Remember the second he dropped the case and the tesseract spilled out, their mission there was done because they had no way of getting it back at that point, reguardless if Loki or someone else picked up the tesseract The reset would have been Loki not picking up the tesseract and someone else picking it up, and Loki going to asguard jail

Headcanon: when Steve landed in the 40's (or whenever it was when he met up with Peggy), the TVA dropped in and took him aside saying "ok, you get a hallpass, but if you try to change ANYTHING we'll erase you from existence and you won't get to watch your homeboys getting along and kicking a** in the future."

The issue is they may have replicated the time machine tech and pym particles as thats how they may have brought their whole army there. Itd make sense for thanos to be able to make it possible to travel again even without the help on the other end

Kang wanted Loki to be taken to the TVA and kept alive. That's kinda his plan all along. The way we mostly view the 'pruning' is backwards. Those pruned are given another chance to just do the same things over and over whereas Loki given that chance would never do the same over and over, which is a hundred percent the reason Kang needed him OUT of the STL, with his 'free will' seemingly 'compromised'. Ironic that his true glorious purpose was to be catalyst to Kang's now ever-enduring glory.

I can totally see TVA being an evil organization or atleast flawed. Don't know if Mobius is in on it too but I hope he isn't. I like him. I feel Loki will bring down the TVA. Like he said, "I'm gonna burn this place to the ground". Perhaps this will be one of the reasons behind the Multiverse of Madness in Doctor Strange 2.

well, it has "multiverse" in the title, it comes out after the Loki miniseries conclude... TVA opposes the multiverse, they have that "sacred timeline" of theirs... it also has "madness" in the title, so, things are gonna get crazy, well, they better, right? (but I really doubt that it's gonna have much of a significance or importance, because they did say that the movies have to be made watchable and make sense even if you haven't seen any of these series like WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and of course: Loki)

Sadly, considering the setup of the TVA it seems like there is no lawyers because the crime is definite and unquestionable. To the TVA every variant is guilty, and there's no need to debate. I mean the other person we saw was executed before his trial, to have that much freedom means that the 'trial' doesn't really need or have to happen.

I think there’s an easier answer here, Loki is arrested because he removed the Tessaract from its destined path, and when the avengers took the stones, Steve Rodgers put them right back as if they never left, but Loki’s stone was never returned so he’s changing the timeline

Steve Rogers staying in the past to stay with Peggy does not affect the timeline as long as he does not interfere with how events were to unfold. After all, he was frozen for 70 plus years initially.

I think the avengers SAVED the sacred timeline. So their crimes were forgiven. Loki and his variants are always a possible danger to the sacred timeline. To control one of them and defeat the other ones with him is their way of cancelling possible danger. Thanos is dead and had no interests in other timelines. Steve is sitting on the moon right now chatting with the living tribunal. His punishment and the way to keep him from interacting with anyone till his death.

Loki is being singled out because of what they know Loki will do on his alternate timeline. The TVA can look at the whole future of all time. Loki's alternate timeline ends with something that disrupts all timelines, so he's being nipped in the bud.

I think that it’s degrees of variant, you see in the “Danger: Multiverse” gif that some loop back into the main time; I think Cap going back eventually ends in the same'ish result, therefore not worth their trouble

It helps to look at the terminator franchise to understand this. Kyle Reese going back in time to create John with Sarah was supposed to happen as we see it happen because of Kyle Reese meddling with time. However, if you look at Genesys or Dark Fate, those timelines seem to be branches of the correct timeline from the first two movies. Renslayer referring to the Avengers' heist can be classified as the timeline from the first two terminator movies and Loki's branch can be classified as the the branches from the last 2 terminator movies.

Cap just leaves out his life in an alternate timeline, then once he returns to his original time the tva prunes that time line. I’m pretty sure that’s what they do with all of these alternate timelines, once the avengers or anyone else for that matter is done interacting with an alternate timeline in a way that is tva approved , they simply destroy that timeline along with that variant or they destroy that timeline and remove that variant.

@@NoblesseOblige-17 time travel isn’t real (well atleast not currently possible, meaning we don’t understand it) , there is no real logic behind it. No matter if they nailed the concept it would still seem illogical to anybody that isn’t an expert in the subject

I think the screen writers were right... the old Steve we saw at the end had been in that timeline all along, and he tried to stop the bad things that happened, but the TVA stopped him.

The avengers brought all the stone back so they didn't change anything. They don't arrest people who caused time variants they arrest time variants themselves. They would have arrested Thanos but the avengers defeated him first. They probably went to the timeline where Thanos left and reset it back to where Thanos never left.

Scarlet Witch's powers wouldn't work in in the TVA, same as the infinity stones.

@@matt_canon Infinity stones don't work outside their universe which they are connected to, but something done or created by one doesn't get undone. It's not the TVA defenses are so great they can stop the stones its a matter of location. Also don't assume that whatever anti magic they have is limitless, it's might be a matter of degree it's powerful enough to stop Loki but it doesn't mean there is no upper limit to what it can stop.

Maybe, maybe not. In the comics? No, The White Phoenix is way above them operating outside time on an omniversal scale in the food chain and outside The one above all, less than a handful of beings would be more powerful. The Scarlet Witch while not nearly as powerful has universal level feats, and chaos magic works differently than traditional magics in marvel. But the MCU? The MCU makes a habit of over nerfing individuals. Loki is a prime example. He is one of the stronger magic users in Marvel, but is knocked around like nothing in the MCU.

great video. I think it makes sense that after thanos left his timeline and went into the main timeline the tva pulled up and reset it. That actually solves one of the bigger plot holes in marvel which is sweet. Maybe steve makes a bargain with the TVA to stay incognito cause he put back all the stones and saved the timelines. Love it.
