Short video outlining the use and creation of customized lighting logic on ESU LokSound 5 equipped locomotives.

I like it, ill have to give this a try when I pick up some v5 decoders. Currently, I program the headlight to always be dim until the ditch lights are turned on. Its cool but not as cool as this.

I did something similar to this and it works fine unless my units are consisted, the rear lights stay on. Do you have issues when you consist locomotives using your logic?

Hopefully ESU updates the flashing on these, they look pretty terrible.

the flashing ditch light rate can be easily altered for now using CV112

@@CentralJerseyRailfan You can change the flash rate, not the pattern itself. If you replace the incandescent bulbs on a real locomotive with LEDs, the flashing would resemble a Siemens SC-44 or ACS-64, because the LEDs don't take time to warm up or fade out. Each flash cycle is about 0.5 seconds of constant power followed by 0.5 seconds of absolutely no power. They aren't strobes. ESU made the flash pattern look more like strobes that fade out, rather than a full half second of illumination _before_ fading out.
