35:20 - well .. s4 didnt shine... it was all about ana insane carry skills and insane jerax supporting skills.... jerax is probably the best support of in dota history, everyone knew it.. everyone feared it... Earth Spirit hero was literally nerfed to the ground because of that one player.... once he retired dota, the hero was buffed up multiple patches and made noob friendlier , so its now playable for noobs even :D

01:08:37 The first guy shaking Notail's hand is Crit. Remember he played for OG in the first roster. That's why he was so salty. During TI Notail was interviewed backstage while walking and Crit was walking past and bumped him in the shoulder without even turning his head. This is why in True Sight the coach gives a shoulder massage to Notail asking him "is this the one?".

To fully understand why Fly leaving was such a devastating betrayal, you need to understand that these guys played together not just since TI2 in 2012, but since the emergence of the competitive scene in Heroes of Newerth, in 2009. They won DreamHack Winter 2011 with their HoN roster and switched to DotA the following year. These guys had been best friends for almost a decade, and Fly left out of the blue with no warning, after conspiring with another team to make sure they had somewhere to go after departing. Not airing his grievances and trying to solve them or build the team back up, but doing it in this underhanded way after being together for such a long time.

That blink, call, blade mail on Axe was the turning point of game 4. Was so cool to hear Seb calmly say "this is my game bois" to his team 5 minutes before making that game-changing play. I watched this whole series live, calling in sick to work for 3 days straight, and absolutely lost my s*** when they won haha. This video brings back great memories.

1:04:10 I know this video is years old and I'm just here for nostalgia, but in case someone still reads this: One of the biggest reasons for games to turn around (besides from the obvious things like throws or insane/lucky plays or standard magic burst falloff in lategame) is the concept of spikes. There are item and level spikes in Dota for each hero an each hero's spikes can be at different times/levels. One obvious one is of course level 6 where heroes get their ultimate abilities. Another pretty obvious one is when initiators get their blink dagger. You can initiate without being scouted (usually with smoke which hides you from wards) with an ability that e.g. stuns/disables most of the enemy team at once like Tide's ulti, Enigma's ulti or Magnus' ulti. These can result in huge turnarounds. Other item spikes could be something like a BKB on a carry or a hero that has channeling abilities so he can't be disabled from dealing damage. Other level spikes could be something like level 15 on IO during TI9 times when he got his damage dealing talent. Then there's the "timing" issue and strategies. If you draft for a split push strategy with e.g. Natures Prophet, you have to end the game before the enemy team has items that allow them to quickly dispose of the split pusher (e.g. boots of travel + blink + hex). Or if you follow an early push strat usually with heroes that all spike in the level 6 range, you have to "deathball" at that time or you will also lose. So for example, if your team has an early-game focused strat and doesn't manage to win the game before the enemy team (which might be focused on a late-game focused strat) hits their critical mass, you will probably lose despite being ahead but not behing ahead enough. And of course there's the hero synergies and the billions upon billions of possible hero combinations and when their synergies can hit spikes. Add to that billions of item combinations and you begin to grasp why this can happen.

1:04:30 exactly why i love dota. Would you watch an hour of fight when you already know that there is no chance for the other team pulling through. Its exactly because you can make a come back in dota that its sp fun. I know there are these power spikes in league where the first team to reach that spile have so much advantage. Exactly the reason why i didnt play league as much as dota and eventually dropping it.

This is the biggest esports Cinderalla Story. I remember watching this entire tournament live and it was such huge hype. Especially since almost all of OGs games after the groupstage went the whole way including many comebacks. Best TI by far and made me become a fan of OG for sure. That game will be forever underrated. The context its all. OG was already one of the biggest team by that time, Ad Finem was no more than some random tier 2 team that was expected to dissapear after the major, somehow the ultimate underdog managed its way to the finals. Winning the crowd on the way with theirs antimeta approach to the game, infinite hero pool and maybe the best and funniest to watch pos 4. Also, they were asked how they wanted to be cheered, they said "like Spartans, au! au ! au!" And so it was. Awesome game.

1:04:00 In league the heroes are so simple so there is less mistakes made so when a team is ahead they are 100% sure to win, in Dota 2 the heroes are so complex so there are more mistakes made and when the team ahead makes those mistakes they lose the game. The comeback mechanic of dota 2 is really good thats why we see these people who get their bases destroyed and have 20k+ gold deficit win the game and that comeback mechanic makes the games interesting to watch because you never really know who will win until they do.

in dota they implemented in the past years alot of updates that make comebacks more possible like u get alot more exp then in probably any other moba if u kill highlvl hero, u have 4 bounty runes every couple minutes so one good fight and taking them is a huge gold swing. The new killstreaks that give huge amounts like there were games ti9 someone had like 6 kills and then got killed 1 time by an enemy and that enemy jumped his level just by that. I followed Fnatic MSI since their HoN days around 2009 (maybe 2010, my memory is hazy) , pretty much the unbeatable team. 2013 they transitioned to DotA 2 (HoN pro scene starts to show signs of dying, the grass is looking greener on DotA 2 scene) 2014 drama happened, Fnatic supposedly wanted to replace Era with Xcalibur for TI 4 but disputes happens, the team are forced to stick together or get disqualified by Valve. Trivia1: Era was the youngest competitive player and champion in HoN. Trivia 2: Orange Malaysia only lasted for one year - 2013, 2nd runner up during TI3, they lost the game due to a grave mistake -accidentally Aegis deny by kyxy. The star mid player Mushi got poached to join China Team DK, the favorites to win TI 4 but due to strategy leak they ended up as the 3rd runner up of TI 4. Trivia 3: TnC was known as the new SEA (pretty sure it is full Philippines line up) that slain multiple pro teams during TI 4/5.

It's so funny reading LoL players are like League is more difficult and blah blah blah. I've played both HoN League and dota 2 And Dota is so much more complex than League League doesn't have a steep learning curve like Dota2 has. Like the fact that you constantly have to check both the enemy creeps and your own creeps health to deny and get last hits really determines whether you win your lane or lose it. Don't get me wrong tho league is still a skill based game and all that but i just feel like the skill ceiling in Dota2 is so much higher

the reason that one team is winning then all of a sudden can start losing, is because DOTA 2 has a " come back " mechanic built into the game. Its specifically designed if you can kill the main core with the kill streaks etc, it rewards greater gold and XP when you kill them. They kill you for 300gold, but when you end their streak and get the kill, you get 1,800gold for example back. That injection of gold and XP swings the game back.

Of course they meant Boston as in Boston, just like Manila Major was in Manila, Shanghai Major was in Shanghai and so on.. It would be really strange to have Boston Major in Sweden, or the Shanghai Major in Lithuania, you know..:P "Dota is definitely a late game kind of game", it's 36 minutes into the game which is mid game, late game hasn't even started yet. You have much to learn, young Padawan.

Dota 2 is basically of the same concept like 'capture the flag'. You reach the flag (ancient) and grab (destroy) it = you win.

@@enVybiaN_nVbN fly doesn't suck at all. he played with OG for years and it didn't work, so he left. he did it in a very shitty and scummy way, but most people would do that if they see no progress, but want to achieve their goal.

The idea of dota is that there is always a possibility to win, (most cases), is designed that way, if you are behind, you win more gold and xp from hero kills.
