Recently, I bought tickets to explore a battleship I stumbled upon while walking and spent the morning exploring it! It was a valuable experience to learn about how the crew lived back then and explore a ship that still exists today. It made me want to study world history more deeply.
After getting hungry, we headed to the very popular Borough Market, which was bustling with shops and crowds. I bought risotto, a Greek wrap sandwich, cheese, and a drink, and escaped to a quieter spot. Everything was delicious, but you'll need to brace yourself for the crowds when you go (and watch out for pickpockets!).
Then I visited St. Paul’s Cathedral, which was truly magnificent. It's a building I've often seen in movies set in England and always wanted to see in person; the real thing has a different kind of impact. Although I skipped the inside tour this time, I would like to check it out if I have time in the future.
I enjoyed the Tate Modern, which is free for the main exhibits, but I decided to see a paid exhibition featuring Picasso's work. Seeing Picasso's paintings reminded me of Maha Harada's "The Curtain of Guernica," making me wish I had a more discerning eye for art-it's a bit frustrating. Studying history and art is something I want to gradually advance in my life!
