Another London Weekend Start-up other than the jazzy 'Well Swung Fanfare'
Theme: 'Motet & Chant' composed by William Farran
and performed by the KPM Orchrstra (KPM 1000 Series - Sacred Music - © KPM Music 1966)
Apparently, London Weekend would start the day on Sunday with this melody as the 'Well Swung Fanfare' was judged to be too 'jazzy' before the Sunday Morning (Church) Service was broadcast. How times change.
I hope that you all like orange as there is an awful lot of it in the video. If not, look away now.

LWT’s history of Startups could be an interesting topic for a video. I’d like to know more, especially since they had multiple Sunday Startups.

Hi M L. I may leave the history of startups to another. Alongside LWT, I seem to remember that Rediffusion, ATV, Granada and Border seemed to experiment with their startup routines especially during the 60s and early 70s. Grampian? Perhaps. So, still more to come. Best wishes, Nigel

@@nigelcash5284 Oh don’t worry buddy. I didn’t say you specifically should do it. It felt like a good idea in General. If there’s ever research on the History of Startups I’m sure it would make a good topic.

For The London Area it was The Croydon piccasso CARD,Than The London one Both Used For Rediffusion, The Thames Television Picasso and London weekend Television one. The Star card With the same Names. ITA TRANSMITTERS 8N SERVICE AND IBA FROM 1972. THEN THAMES AND LONDON WEEKEND WITH THEIR OWN. IBA ONES.
