Hi Everyone, today I’m sharing with you my explanation and analysis of The Entire History of You.
This episode is the third installment of the first series of Charlie Brooker’s acclaimed show Black Mirror, which can currently be streamed on Netflix.
The story revolves around married couple, Liam and Ffion and the former’s suspicion that his wife has been unfaithful.
In this world, people are implanted with so-called grains which record everything that has ever happened to them. The footage can then be replayed and reviewed again and again.
The grain technology not only makes Liam’s jealousy and paranoia worse, it also has substantial repercussions for the wider society.

exactly, I disagree with the point of view people are in which the woman is the good person and the guy is the bad guy. Why the right thing to do for these people is being with a person that cheated to them, lies when confronted and is not a truthful person whatsoever? it seems so messed up. Why would you want to be with a dishonest person in a relationship? How can you trust in them in anything? the guy did the right thing and I didn't find him as a "paranoid" person but as a rather normal nice person that wants to know the truth behind the false reality his wife is showing him.

@@gericko4931 I didn't watch the episode, just what was in this video. But it seems that it seems to be a point of what is necessary for a relationship. While not everyone would want a relationship where "white" lies are told (where only the important part of the truth is told - like having an affair rather than the length of it - the concern initially was about whether the affair happened, not whether the child was liam's), the relationship would have conceivably continued without a problem of rekindling with jonas had liam not been focused on reviewing any footage there was. Whether Liam was reacting to new information or just was feeding his insecurities without a real reason to go back, I am not sure from my viewing of this video, but in many relationships it seems that there would be many cases where someone simply had a personal insecurity that keeps them from trusting a partner, and by which indulging every redo they could would be damaging to the relationship. You've heard many people say that trust is a foundation of a relationship, and that stands apart from whether or not there are objective grounds for it. Even if you have all the evidence in the world, your partner could still doubt you and ruin the relationship. A partner can lie to you everyday that you're not fat, but the relationship could continue unharmed.

Hands down my favorite episode. To be clear the wife was the villain all along. Sure the husband was flawed but that's no reason to cheat and have him raise another man kid. He repeatedly ask her if something was gonna on and she denied everything even when he shows her the evidence she stills lies. No one deserves to be cheated on and lied to. She’s one of the top villains on the series.

Nice perspective, but may I offer another? He had abandoned her when she slept with someone else. There was never any proof a condom was not used. Does it really matter if she downplays the significance of her feelings for the other guy, when she ultimately chose Liam, despite his abandonment. She did it to save his feelings, because she loved him. To me, the entire encounter, is her trying to make the best of an awkward situation. If you want a partner with no sexual history, find a virgin, when you are, and get married in your teens. Otherwise, don't beat people up for having a life before you came along.

@@rebeccadelbridge2998 Sorry to say, but your "perspective" is severely flawed; "He abandoned her".. PFFFT! BS! SHE abandoned THEIR relationship when SHE went behind his back to EFF around with a PAST fling. "Does it really matter if she downplays the significance of her feelings for the other guy, when she ultimately chose Liam..." (Firstly, leaving out the infantile comment of "his abandonment", as it was JUST discussed). This SHOWS how LITTLE SHE cares for THEIR relationship. It is NOT about HIM GIVE GIVE GIVE. SHE HAS to give in return, ALL she shows in this instance is she'd rather TAKE HIS feelings of jealousy and through it back at him so as to HIDE her OBVIOUS betrayal. "She did it to save his feelings, because she loved him" This is COMPLETE BS.. If you TRULY love someone or something, and YOU are doing something (or suspect them) that is DESTRUCTIVE to the relationship, it is on YOU to GROW UP and bear that responsibility to address the situation. LEST you risk it blowing up into something WAAAY worse (Liam threatening the Ex... all because manipulative wife couldn't keep her legs shut, nor be HONEST with her LIFE PARTNER) Your whole take is more like, a diluted illusion of how YOUR ideal relationship would go (ie, being able to CHEAT, LIE, and BETRAY on your relationships, ALL because HE should do ALL the work for YOU) [what sort of sick romance stories are YOU reading...]

Not his fault. He was right. His jealousy would have been alleviated if she wasn't messing around. She proved he was correct to be jealous. Amazing how women can always try to escape accountability even for fictional characters. Like he was supposed to only see the good parts and how dare he want to put some focus on her dishonesty and adultery. Even to the point of making it his fault she got pregnant by someone else.

I think their relationship was doomed from the beginning. Liam did have a jealously problem, but Ffion was never really in the relationship. She was always hung up on Mr. Marrakesh from the start. Ffion talking about past lovers after hooking up with Liam for the first time is a big red flag that she has not moved on from her past.

My favourite episode! EMy favourite thing about black mirror is how you discover more things after multiple viewings. For instance, per the job interview scene and the eventual divorce; it’s foreshadowed the main character may go on to pioneer the parent-suing concept, only to have it ultimately bite him in the ass. It’s entirely possible that when their child grows up, he just might sue the parents for damages/mental anguish arising from their divorce. There’s a weird irony to it.

@@swizzamane8775 Anyways. Liam was definitely the lesser of the two evils. Her infidelity is inexcusable. Though this might not apply here, some studies/questionnaires have shown that women tend to cheat due to a lack of something in their spouse, which is incredibly cowardly on their part. Liam’s jealousy and his own flaws had caused a rift that led to her cheating. Her own selfishness brought her towards infidelity because she could not handle how her flawed spouse overreacted towards what could have either been just a friend or a possible other side-man.

An interesting analysis, is it correct? That all depends on the perspective of the viewer. I remember watching this episode, and it does play on the emotions a tad, lol. The real question is, is truth that important? Having spent a long time on this planet, my perspective is that no, it's not, most people prefer to be lied to, in fact it's expected, most people don't like the truth, it just spoils this game we call life. One day in the near future, this kind of lifestyle will be available to all, it will be just a different form of the smartphone, a digital processor and memory chip that fits in the brain. There is already a company called Neuralink, founded by Elon Musk, that is concentrating on achieving something similar, but with more advanced features than the Black mirror program presents... The future is going to be interesting!

We've only held onto Christianity for so long, because it has some ACTUALLY good morals to follow.
