BOOK A LIGHTHOUSE MENTOR
Are you or someone you know doubting Islam? Do you find yourself struggling to find answers? Do you have a hard time speaking to someone about Islam? Are you considering Islam but are unsure about certain concepts? Are you an activist, Imam or community leader who is unsure about how to handle questions related to science, philosophy, the Islamic moral code, etc.?
You are not alone. Over the course of the last decade or more there has been a rapid proliferation of content online and in academic institutions that has eroded the faith of some people.
Seeing the rise of this phenomenon , Sapience Institute is introducing a One to One mentoring service called LIGHTHOUSE.

AI Summary: 1) Fine-tuning is a specific type of teleological argument that deals with the issue of life-permitting universes. 2) The argument is not based on the beauty or complexity of the universe, but on the fact that the universe is constructed in a way that allows for human life. 3) The constants and fundamental factors that allow for the existence of human life are adjusted just right, and if they were any different, the universe wouldn't exist as we know it. 4) The fine-tuning argument is different from William Paley's watchmaker argument, which compared a watch to a rock and inferred the existence of a designer. Richard Dawkins has spent more time trying to refute Paley's argument than the fine-tuning argument.

To be fair i think muslims should stay away from using scientific theories to defend islam. The real robust reasons to believe in god are from theology and reasonable thinking ( which is what u need in the first place to do "science" at all). In my opinion the contingency argument is by far the strongest one. "were they created from nothing or are they the creators of themselves". U cannot go around this theory or you fall into absurdities.
@oayysz8909
@oayysz8909 2 жыл бұрын
Yes agreed reality 99% of people would agree to such simple concepts subhanallah when it's the words of the creator it's so clear and powerful, but like hijab said before sometimes you need to elaborate further and bring other points can't just stick to one obviously that only applies to certain individuals majority of people use basic intuition to recognise god, if not then we give them the basic arguments like were they created from nothing, if they go to science/evolution we demonstrate science is based on induction and u can't just rely on science it changes etc, if they insist then just bring in someone more learnered to have a private conversation, this approach by an average muslim speaking to an atheist would be much more powerful, I think Hijabs work shouldn't be disregarded as it's dawah at a high level but masses will most likely not understand and need all the arguments for gods existence it may cause alot of unnecessary confusions im happy hijab is very mature now and sticking to the fundamental Qur'anic arguments made by Allah insha'Allah Allah will give baraka in his work

I think you are misinterpreting. There are indeed people who prioritise "science" (to me science is just knowledge of any sort what ever it's methodologic basis be), but these lads as do many other only defend Islam against attacks with "science" because the people attacking use it themselves. What you say is basically: Well you evidently can come up with answers, but just do not bother because the most important one is the contigency argument. I do agree, it is one of if not the most obliging rational argument. But that does not explain away other questions. If you can defend a wall across all its width and length, why restrict your self to the entrance gate only? Just because it is the safest one? - If your understanding of science merely comprises of empircal nature sciences, and what you mean by scientific theories are of factual nature, rather than rationally argmentative, well then it is obvious we should not make them the fundamental indicator of the Truth and I might aswell not have written the comment, but what the Quran says on embryology is baffling nonetheless.
@Ersilay
@Ersilay 2 жыл бұрын
@@ruhmuhaccer864 The only issue with the contingency argument is it requires an excellent speaker for it to make sense, which isn't given to anyone without at least some basis in philosophy and logical reasoning, and the listener must also be able to fathom the power behind those arguments. I do agree in that it's the best argument by far, and the way Mohammed Hijab developed it in his Burhan is absolutely phenomenal because it even allows post-procedings such as deducing some of God's attributes from a purely reason-based theory, negating any critic that you need religion to accept there is a God. But at the same time, this argument requires some knowledge on the basis from both sides, which is frankly lacking by and large and unfortunately, most people simply do not bother educating themselves on logical reasoning, be it muslims or non-muslims.

Forget about the reasons why a god should exist. Lets talk about if Allah is real. On the topic of Allah´s existence or lack thereof, there are some facts we must consider: 1.Humans have worshiped many hundeds of gods before Allah, for example, Zeus, Odin, Ra, Ahura mazda etc. 2.You as a muslim believe that all these other gods were created by men. 3. If you believe that these other gods were created by men, then you believe that humans are capable of creating gods, who they then worship. 4.If humans are capable of creating gods, then we must always try to verify if a god such as Allah is real or was also created by humans like the many hundreds of gods that came were worshiped before him. 5. To verify if a god was created by humans or not, we must look at the attributes of that god and see if there are similarities with those gods who were created by men, and how strong those similarities are. 6.Looking at many of these gods that came before allah, some of the attributes which we find with all of them are: -They show a variety of behaviours which are typical of humans.For example, they get angry, they get frustrated and disappointed, and even jealousy -They demand to be worshiped by humans as a show of faith -There is always some form of punishment for those who disobey these gods or do not believe in them -They are described with superlative terms for example: the most powerful, the most wise, the strongest, the quickest, the kindest, the most merciful etc. etc. Basically, you take a human attribute and make it a superlative, and you have the attribute of a god. -They communicate through human “servants”. With these facts in mind, we can see that Allah fits what you would expect of a man-made god. Allah is demands to be worshiped and he even goes as far as threatening to torture those who do not worship him or those who do not believe in him. Quite a sign of insecurity, not by Allah, but by those who created him, created his story, and his attributes. Also, consider the number of times allah describes himself as most wise, most powerful, most this, and most that in the quran. In fact, hardly a few verses go by without Allah reminding us that he is the best, most powerful, guy, and he will hurt those who disobey him . it is almost as if Allah is scared that if he stops reminding us how great he is and how much he will hurt us if we don´t acknowledge his greatness, we may stop worshiping him, and he may end up like Zeus and Odin, in the graveyard of gods.

This is such an ignorant comment we believe that Adam and eves were the first Muslims so no there weren’t thousand of gods before. We believe😮 that people can create FAKE GODS. And your point of “if you don’t warship you go to hell is insecure” is a contradiction because w will argue why do you go to hell if God created you to disbelieve. So is he insecure or is making people disbelieve? Its embarrassing how you have to attack something else other than what this video is about because you’re InSecURe

It doesn’t seem you are listening rather you hear what you want to because you do not care for truth. ‘The universe multiverse and life in general’ do in fact need an explanation this is because they are not things which exhibit Qualities that would dictate they do not need a reason for their existence. The universe is made of physical discrete parts atoms, molecules the 4 forces of nature all evidently could be different, the multiverse follows the same pattern it is part of a eco system of universe proposed but it doesn’t get away without explaining why it exists because we can just ask what created the multiverse and what created that and we would end up nowhere. Furthermore if you would still say the universe doesn’t need a explanation because perhaps it is eternal which is a radical assumption then it’s just silly because Actual infinities are not possible in Reality. There are numerous arguments that prove paradoxes arrive when you espouse a eternal universe. God need not a explanation as he is the self sustaining cause we deny infinite regress is possible hence we arrive at God. It’s pretty simple tbh

@----f 6 ай бұрын
You've made a mistake my friend. The universe is contingent, so it is in need of an explanation. It could not have existed. It is limited. It can be conceivably different. If it were not contingent, then we would not have the established scientific enterprise to begin with. Hope that made sense

The whole premise of something rather than nothing is wrong. Something and nothing are both dualistic concepts based on basal human understanding. Our perception is relative/filtered interpretation of reality, mostly caught up in words, concepts, dualistic thinking, big small, far close, up down, empty full. Our brain can however see a different non-dualistic truth. That non-duality is more true than dualistic inperpretation of the world. Non-duality implies that tyere isn't something and thatcthere isn't nothing, but perhaps something much more mysterious than both. Buddhismcalls this emptiness, but it is also a type of fullness. It would be kind of dumb to realize non-duality is right and then try to Muslimize it bwahahaha. Islam hardly touches upon the true nature of reality. You always blabla Allah Allah, but fail to look further than the blinderscof your doctrine. Islam has a few good things here and there but the scale of lies and manipulation is bigger than you will ever admit. Probably because it pays you will come up with excuses.
