I don't think using Quran verses to invite non Muslims to Islam is circular reasoning. Many Quran verses tells the reader to ponder over the creation (alternation of days and night, design of camel) and think about the purpose of creation. No one needs to "believe in the Quran" in order to reflect on these verses as they are intriguing questions and not a matter of "blind faith". Thus, there is no circular reasoning here.

Regarding it being impossible for Allah to do something that is meaningful or goes against his attributes i heard a lecture in Arabic subhanallah that for every time Allah sais to the prophet if they want to do this then Allah will do this and mentions a specific action for e.g surah nisa 142 it states "the hypocrites try to fool you and Allah is fooling them and other verses that mention ", they plan and Allah plans" ,they are fighting you and Allah is fighting them etc, now this is consistent throughout the Qur'an except for 1 verse in surat anfal 71 Allah states "if they want to betray you then they tried to betray Allah in the past and he gave you Mohammed power over them. Notice why Allah didn't mention here "he betrayed them" the word in Arabic is khiyana unlike all other verses subhanallah because betrayal goes against Allah's attributes. Very clear how precise and suttle the Qur'an is

The thing is there are rational arguments in the Quran and those are the ones you want to make sure you use, rephrasing and expanding upon them while using others in addition, especially after they do the "ok then what do you believe" or they make the whataboutism move of saying the Quran/Islam has that problem/issue too. How about if I say it like this, the Quran is the fastest way to both deconstruct and bring them to Islam because it's the Quran that is deconstructing their belief. For example, "did they create themselves?" It questions the reader by putting their own mind against false beliefs, then one can realize that it's their creator that would know their mind/intellect and know the effects of posing such a statement, boom, decontruction and dawah all in one. Agree? Makes sense? One last point and one that perhaps Mohammed Hijab would agree with. Philosophy is mostly an English/Greek eurocentric enterprise and as such it has their markings on it so one should be very careful in/of that. Of course at the end of the day it's human logic that is doing the actual deconstruction so I get that.

A question to the presented Argument. A physicist might say that basically nothing in the universe is destructable, since even the most thourough destruction would only mean that you exchanged the matter into energy. I’m confused about the statement “if this set of contingent things happened to contain a necessary thing, the necessary thing would explain the existence of all of the contingent things.” Not because of the set violation, I get he’s arguing ad absurdum. Fine. My confusion is with why the necessary thing has explanatory power just by virtue of it being necessary. e.g. in a set of chairs, if there was somehow also the number 4 in that set, the number 4 (a necessary thing) would explain the existence of the chairs (contingent things)? How? The number 4 has no explanatory power over the chairs’ existence.

Islam has truth in it but that does not mean it is true as a whole. So one cannot use some truth as an argument for Islam. Just because God is true that doesn't make Islam true but only proves that what is true of Islam is not unique to Islam. That being said enjoyable discussion.
