Thank God my grandson live 🙏 With me. One day he said, it not right 4 u 2 live alone 😔! His Mom Gave birth 2 him @ 15yrs old. Her dad and l helped out greatly. Only God send him 2 stay with me. What a Great Blessing. His Mother happy he staying with me. I am 😊 happy also. He is the man of the house. By God Grace and Mercy 😇❗ The house.

I am completely alone for 2 years now at close to 70. I heave no vale though I am okay with it. But it makes me very sad for people who are tortured and dying because of it. I do have 4 young’s cats and a dog who keep me company.

To be alone and to be lonely is not the same thing. Loneliness is one of those conditions that the lonely hesitate to confess and try to hide because society tends to see it as a sign of weakness and failure. To be lonely in old age is particularly painful: it feels as though one's whole life and all that one has endured, survived and learned has been for nothing. It is also difficult to amend because what one needs most in old age are long term familiars: loving family and old friends who know one well & are well known with whom one can relate over a broad spectrum. Compared to this, new friends and the kindness of well-meaning strangers are a poor substitute. A discarnate voice on the phone is worthless. What is needed is up close and personal: smiles, hugs, kisses, shared interests and shared activities.

Do you have older parents or grandparents or more family and friends that you don’t visit or call them ? Why don’t you go see them and check on them make sure they are eating and they are safe . They are at home lonely day after day week after week month after month . What would you do if that was you ? This could be your next door neighbor. The elderly are out there lonely and in a lot of cases hungry and hasn’t seen anybody in weeks and months or years . How does that make you feel ? This is really happening . Make time and go see them now .... Prayers are going out to our older generation now it’s time for you to go and see and help them .

Loneliness It can at times be flaming awful ,and even more so,when you earlier in your life"you had a messy marriage, you done your 100 times best and but still then' divorce',etc but if you have some of your health its important to get out,mix talk to strangers, shop assistants etc because even some neighbours who know nothing about your life never knew you" assume this that other"tittle tattlers " but some mix, there's Age UK friendship's,etc God bless, Merry Christmas and a Happy new year to everyone and everybody

Who wants a phone call? Big deal. Talking to someone you can't see. I need to see a face, get a hug. Let's go feed the ducks at the lake. I would die of happiness if someone would take me to the lake and feed the ducks and the other birds.

The family can do so much they have there own life its so hard to know what's right we older people sometimes are to independent to ask for help it's so sad take care

Volunteer! You'll meet people. If you have a car, deliver meals for Meals on Wheels, serve food at a homeless shelter, walk dogs at an animal shelter, watch someone's child for an hour to spell them, take a walk, volunteer at the senior center, library or community center, take an art class, teach a class at a senior center, library or community center, don't just sit there!

Here in xpain all the old people sit out together on the sun .No one is lonely and thats how it should be .In uk your left to get pn with being on your own in continental countries the families live together they dont abandon their old folk .

Me too.. at 65.. living still after 45 years in 5 floor walk up..( with my 2nd spinal injury on the job ( postal service 36 years.. had to retire .. / all I can say is golden years my ass.. and Getting older is not for pussies..

I think all of us at some stage ..we must be seprated from our loved ones .. therefore it is part of our destiny ...we have to except the situation ..cant blame children ,families, friends ... everyday we plant seed that we reap on our way to our destiny...i am 82 yrs i am grateful about what God is doing and showing me everyday that i am not alone ..all i can say is we cannot put our Lives to people or children who we raised...God is controller and an eye to any situation in our lives...i believe in Him and trust that if He is with me i will never feel empty i thank His Grace and Mercy everyday when i see light through the window ...lets pray for all things happening God Almighty creator of everything He is powerful ...call His Name. In Jesus Name i pray Amen 🙏🙏
