I have not used the minn Kota for that. We usually troll for king and Spanish Mackeral around 6-10 mph and sometimes for lengthy periods of time. The trolling motor just isn’t they way to go for that, at least for my boat in the ocean. That being said the trolling motor works great moving you around reefs and the spot lock is incredible holding you when you find that location. I never have to use my anchor. The Suzuki has been wonderful. It is very quiet and has performed flawlessly. The only thing I don’t care for is the gas guage package that comes with it. It works but I like simple better.
