Wonderful trails at this conservation area. Very well organized and marked, lots of information, and I saw quite a lot of people out enjoying the nice winter weather.
I hiked 7.5 km on the west trails, and there is another 7.5 km on the east trails. It was very icy, though, so make sure you get yourself some hiking cleats (spikes, icers) and attach them to your boots for this hike in winter.
I like the trails in the Central Lake Ontario Conservation Authority (CLOCA) because they are so well-marked and so much trail information is available. Look on the maps at the park (or on their websites) for on the signs at the start of each trail for information about distance, width, grade, running slope, cross slope, elevation and trail surface.
Also, there is a Back2Nature program with the nearby libraries. You can borrow a package containing a parking pass, nature books, identification cards, and trail maps. How great is that??
