We take a walk down into Looe for a look around this popular Cornwall tourist destination to wander over Looe Bridge and over into West Looe and down the riverside to a fantastic place to look over the beach and get a great view of this fantastic Cornwall town.
In this virtual tour we take you for a gentle wander along the River Looe in this busy Cornish holiday hotspot
Looe is a coastal town and civil parish in south-east Cornwall, England, with a population of 5,280 at the 2011 census. Looe is 20 miles west of Plymouth and seven miles south of Liskeard, divided in two by the River Looe, East Looe and West Looe being connected by a bridge.
The town is in hilly landscape at the mouth of the Looe River, and sheltered along the river is the harbour where fishing boats bob on the water and you can test your crab-catching skills on the quayside. Looe has a snug old town, with rows of straight, narrow lanes hiding quaint local shops, cafes and restaurants.
Looe is also very close to Polperro.
Looe is more of a resort whereas Polperro retains it's lovely village atmosphere. There are plenty of places in the village to eat and drink regardless of the time of year and loads of possibilities for accommodation.

I remember going to Looe quite a while ago , maybe 30 years lol , with friends on motorbikes . We went out to the bay on a luxury motor boat which I believe was actually built in Looe . It had a Jaguar V12 twin turbo engine mounted midships and it's hull was a scaled down MTB , motor torpedo boat , design ; it featured beautiful wood and brass and would have suited a Bond film or maybe something much posher ! I wonder if the boats are still made in Looe and can I hope to get another ride this September when I visit again this year .... no motorbike this time though ! ?

I stayed at a b&b run by wonderful couple in West Looe in 1978. A boat took groups to St George's Island for tea put on by two women who owned the island.

We stayed in West Looe in July 2021, the hot week lucky us. I walked down to the ferry past where you have been filming to go across to East Looe, by the fire station at a cost of £1, saves the walk down to the bridge, a pleasure ride. Your filming is great and brings back many happy memories, thank you.

Loved your video of Looe. We’ve stayed there many times in a house on the front, which you actually walked past. It’s called Tamarisk, but haven’t been back for a few years so don’t know if it’s still a holiday home. We loved it there overlooking the water. Really miss Looe but it’s lovely to see your excellent videos. Thank you. Xxx💖💖

Absolutely LOVED this video!! LOOEEEEE - why on earth didn't I visit when I was in Cornwall! Your filming is incredible - I have no idea how you kept the camera so smooth and still. And I feel like you should do professional tours for the tourism boards of these places. You would be FANTASTIC! x

@@GimbalWalkTV Yes had lunch at Kelly's, wonderful fish and chips. Visited Boots and an electronic store which you to ring a bell on a tv tray and someone would come to the door to what they could do for you. I did a tour of the Uk sept 24 to Oct 6. England ,Wales and Scotland unfortunately it didn't include Northern Ireland.

Great video. I was waiting to see if the restaurant was still open that my wife and i used to visit in the 80's, but you didn't go up far enough. If memory serves me right, it was called the Tom Sawyer. You could watch the fishing boats come in and the food was great. Is it still there if anyone knows?

Always stayed in hannafore . Used the harbour moon and got the ferry across for my Curry's and pasties 🤣🤣

Wow the council in Looe needs to drench the bay otherwise there will be nothing left of it. The sea weed looking like grass growing in the canal. 😊

Hello Neil Nice to see you're better now,Looe is beautiful,brings back memories from a few years ago,we were down in Falmouth a few weeks ago,very beautiful down there,we had a trip on River Fal and a day in Truro,a short stay but hope to be back again soon,have a look if you can ,I'm sure you'll enjoy it there.Many thanks Alan

Yes West Looe seems very quiet, and very little shops it seems? Still a charming town nestled by the sea. Amazes me how many show up to lay in the sand on a dark, gloomy day. I know you have short summers and must take advantage of any day that doesn't rain! So good to have you back. I was worried and anxious of what become of you. Hoping you were on a trip South of France or somewhere exotic! Nasty Covid! Take care :)
