Penny, thanks. I hope you are doing well and that my prayers for your healing has reached God's ears and heart. God has a big loving ❤. Ever since I had all those litters in 2019, I have fought to catch up on work and my health. It has been a balancing act that is still not in balance. The Cattery takes most of my time so I don't have the downtime of an average working person. It will take years to catch up on everything that needs doing outside my Cattery. While I dearly love my cats and kittens, at my age, it is time for me to start taking better care of myself and doing things that bring calm, peace and joy to me. Cattery is not just about cats and kittens. It is about families, applications, contracts, doctoring, KZfaq, Facebook, Instagram and so much more, like huge loads of laundry and cleaning, cleaning, cleaning constantly. There is so much that goes in to running a Cattery. After 12 years of being a breeder and running a Cattery, my body and age says it is time to relax and unwind without all those responsible that come with owning a Cattery. I do plan on keeping the Cattery's website and KZfaq Channel up and running, while doing more "How To" videos to benefit cat and kitten parents world wide. Of course, new videos will be done at my leisure. I have a whole list of videos I would like to due on kitten and cat care. I might even, finally, update the old "How to give a kitten a bath" video. LOL.

@@weloveourkittens I had been wondering about your health. I was watching one of your videos just a few weeks ago, and what I heard in your voice concerned me, and I thought, it sounds like Susan has never really recovered from that black mold. And as much as I love watching the cat videos and being able to be a part of what’s going on with the kittens, your health is much more important to me. I will be seeing the surgeon on Wednesday-12 weeks since surgery-and will see what he thinks about my progress. (He told me it takes at least 3 months for the bowel to heal.) Then I will see the gastroenterologist toward the end of the month. And, of course, as I said before, your prayers have been priceless to me! And as always, I’m praying for you.

My health is good but it is still in recovery from the shock to my body of having 2 hours of sleep a night for 2 months while I was hand feeding 2 premature litters back in 2019, as well as caring for 4 more litters at the same time and my 15 adult cats. It was just too much for my body and my body said no more. I am up to 6 hours of sleep a night but it has taken 3 years to get to this point. I am hoping to get back to 8 hours a night but it means really slowing down a lot without a lot of responsibilities. Last night I was up to 6 a.m. bathing 4 kittens and blow drying them, video taping them, getting the picks email created and sending the picks email out to my families on the Priority Wait List. It was a week late in coming. That will give you a bit of an idea of how things really have not slowed down. I still have about 6 months of clean Cattery laundry that needs folding and putting away. That is just a small part. I will still be doing How to videos and kitten videos even after Fall 2022. It just will be by Fall 2022, I will stop having litters and all the responsibility of the Cattery. I currently have 2 breeding girls, 2 breeding boys and 2 forever cats/kittens. I am so happy that I have a very easy litter system, for sure!

@@weloveourkittens I am so glad you are slowly recovering. Of course, I know you have always put the welfare of the kittens first, and that is a 24/7 job. It’s like I almost can’t imagine you slowing down. LOL. ps. Everybody should thank you for that litter system.

I plan on keeping 2-3 kittens from my upcoming litters to share retirement with me. I will have time to video tape their fun adventures and growth. As for referrals, unfortunately, I do not know one Persian and Himalayan breeder that is scanning on a regular basis, all their breeders for the heart disease, HCM. Even Dr. Meurs stated to me in email yesterday, that she is not going to be doing any scans in the near future for HCM under the Persian Himalayan HCM Study. I could not even get 2 of my cats scanned by her. So with all that said, I cannot recommend any breeder who does not o the right thing and scan on regular basis (annually), all their breeders for HCM.

You can look up on the internet how to get certain colors with certain parents. I do not have a published chart. I go to the internet when I need. Over the years, I just learned it.

Yes, but I have a Wait List about a year out for my kittens.

You can unscrew the top and put it in a bathtub, sink or anything that it can fit in. I use a sponge with a scrubby side soaked in diluted bleach to get the hair off. If it is really stuck with hair, use your fingers and the sponge to pull it off. I also use diluted bleach to soak my main parts of the PlayStation in. To make diluted bleach, you use 1 cup of regular unscented bleach to one gallon of water. I would advise not to soak for very long, in order not to ruin the wood or particle board. I then rinse and let thoroughly dry before putting it back together.
