I was lucky to try them all recently when I made a Christmas gift guide with a wholesale company here in Australia. I had the same reactions to all of them and Guidance was my fave too. All the new bottles are really pretty colours too but Guidance is my fave being in a blush pink bottle with a creamy cap. It’s lovely. Amouage is one of my fave brands of all time.

I’ve been obsessed with Guidance since I smelled it earlier this month. The first spray reminded me a bit of Delina, but it quickly became something much more interesting. I can’t wait to buy it!

Guidance definitely, I'm really not interested in the others but I'll try them, I could be wrong. What I really like from Amouage is the dark heavy fragrances and in general I'm shifting my interest more in that direction. Thanks for the preview Sebastian!!!

Guidance to me is ok but definitely unique. There is something in there that is almost headache inducing. Of all four, Lineage is my favorite. It’s light, salty and perfect for spring summer.

Guidance sounds like a lovely offering. Lineage would likely tickle me because I love incense. Purpose's suede, saffron, and spices sound tantalizing. Wow, those 3 out of the 4 all sound tempting to me. I will have to grab one of those little samplers.

Amouage and Serge Lutens are my favorite brands because their offerings are so unique. This collection sounds gorgeous, and the bottles are beautiful. I’m glad to see they are moving away from the Man/Woman model (which didn’t always seem applicable to the scents themselves) and are now producing unisex offerings. I like this new direction very much. On another note, Royal Tobacco sounds heavenly and I must get my nose on it as soon as Scentbar gets it in stock.

Amouage "Jubilation XXV Man" might be my favorite fragrance of all-time (and I have a back-up bottle of it). I also own and enjoy "Interlude Man" and "Epic Man". I'd like to try a lot more fragrance releases from them, including these new ones.

Search and purpose are going to be must haves. And i have never paid fulll msrp for a fragrance and i think these two will be my first ☹️ Lineage is great and really has that salty oceanic accord without being overly calone-y. Guidance is ok but it reminded me of a massively amped up Whispers in the library. But it lasted for 3 days on my skin.

I recently left my employment with Amouage. A couple of takeaways….. 1. Beautifully crafted fragrances. 2. We kept telling the “suits” that the house needs major fresh scents. Americans are just not ready for the more complex scents (I’m sorry, but it’s true. If you think about the top sellers in the niche market here, Aventus, Baccarat, Delina, etc. There’s nothing complex about them. I call them “easy wears!”). People come to fragrance counters, smell the blot cards (I’ll even worse, smell the actuators😑) and decide then and there, yay or nay. No matter how many times you tell them you have to get them on your skin, don’t rub and let them dry down, they don’t listen. I really hope Amouage is succeeds, but these do not sound like easy wears😢. Thank you for the great job that you do!

American taste is generally bland. Which is why Amouage is such an exciting brand to me. They consistently create complex and unique offerings, even now, despite what The Cult of Christopher Chong would have you believe. I really would not know what to think if they started producing generic freshies to appeal to Americans. That would be a great sadness indeed.

Recently came back from Oman and visited Amouage factory showroom. Amouage is my new favorite house. Too bad it's sooooo expensive. Bought Homage attar and Meander. Also got the same Odyssey Collection sampler like yours and the Library sampler set. I'm tempted to get the 45 discovery set since I didn't finish smelling everything while there. Thank you for your Amouage series.

Tried Guidance, and it's still on my fingers after I sprayed it yesterday. It's a little strong for me. I see me wearing this in the fall, winter, and early spring. Would purchase a 50 ml (1.7 oz) However, I'll purchase Tom Ford "Rose Prick" from the Cosmetic company store outlet before I would purchase this.

I got the same 4 pack through ScentXplore where Renaud from Amouage did a ‘class’ on all 4 new releases. I think I remember him saying they’re aiming for a late January release date at Bloomingdale’s and Nieman Marcus where they will be the exclusive store retailers for a 2-month period. Search - they hadn’t done a citrusy fragrance because the volatile nature of citrus didn’t fit their brand’s performance reputation. To get better performance, I believe he mentioned they used citrus-leaning Eritrean Frankincense and Sand Vetiver to give longevity to the citrus note. It is the weakest performer of the 4 for me but I still got a long wear-time. As you said, it’s relatively simple, but I think it’s nice and my second favorite. I would say it’s the most approachable of the group. Guidance - this has major wow factor to it! I was so busy smelling it I don’t remember what he said about it 😂 It’s a super performer and the blotter fragranced my house for days. Off the strip; this is my favorite of the 4. Sadly my skin eats up all the ‘fun’ notes and it doesn’t smell that great truthfully. I am hopeful it smells good on my girlfriend when she tries it though! Lineage - this was displayed amid barren island seascapes with green water and to my nose it does take on a salty marine and fresh character. Your thoughts on it being really churchy are quite different from my experience! It’s a really interesting smell but a note I can’t place made for a too cloying experience when I wore it. Purpose - nice at first but then too much Vetiver for me as it dried down (my nose keys in on vetiver for some reason). My least favorite of the group.

I decided to reject the normal fresh fragrances like Prada L'Homme, Dior Sauvage, and Bleu de Chanel that everyone wears. My everyday "fresh" fragrance is Amouage Jubilation XXV. I doubt that any of these new offerings will replace Jubilation as my go to fresh fragrance (I _really_ like it), but I'm going to have to get samples of all four of them anyway. As far as which one I want to try the most, well, they honestly all look good.

I think you are missing so much depth when it comes to Lineage, Sebastian. I definitely get the incense notes, but there is so much more going on here, imo. There is also a fresh, sun drenched sea accord that really draws me in. Slightly salty, but not aquatic...I can't quite put my finger on it. I wish you would revisit this one.

Hi Sebastian great review as usual, to the new collections I have sorta mixed feelings, to me are really pricey and not so original but purpose is lovely, rich, smoky, mystified. Search is too citrus, a little too much must say at the beginning at least, but once it dries down a little bit it's really good, kinda freshie for a amouage. Lineage it was kinda boring, I saw the notes on fragrantica "salty and incense" and I was expecting something interesting but it was good but not much to say about it. and Guidance was meh, yes smells good, rich, well blended but it smells like a body cream more than a fragrance. I think I'm gonna try to get my hands on purpose and search once they low their prices on discounts stores, i thought they will follow this path of royal tobacco, of this characteristic heavy incense dose Amouage is known for. I think their new director is taking the brand in a different kinda boring direction, not bad (royal tobacco, material, enclave and boundless were really good) but far from the pioneering approach from previos masterpieces if that has any sense!

I think that will be harder and harder. Amouage is thinning out boutiques that are able to sell the fragrance. Their marketing department seems to be doing a Montblanc manoeuvre: focus on being the ultimate luxury item, maximise profit and prevent sales below mrsp.

Search is a disappointment. Doesn’t last long on the skin and the citrus vanishes after an hour then becomes smoky woody scent which again doesn’t last. In my opinion, really a let down for the house

I used to get a headache from the Priest with his lantern spreading church incense. Can’t stand that smell so I wouldn’t like anything that smells like a church incense. 😖
