Said the same thing, Bad Boys opened in 1995, me and 15 of my friends went to see it on opening weekend. All colors went to see Bad Boys and I do remember every race loved Beverly Hills Cop, not saying that we don't support our own, but Bad Boys, Beverly Hills Cop, Die Hard, Marvel and DCEU movies are crossovers in the all race and culture category.

White media vs black media unfortunately. The original came out in the 90s when black media was overlooked by the white masses. So while it’s a classic in most black households holds, it was until the 2000s with the sequel that it became “huge” and “seen” by the masses.

I do not look at Rotten Tomatoes or any other critic website for me to view any movie. Usually they have their own narrative they want people to follow. If you like a movie go see it or stream. No one does hold your opinion on any flick.

For studio's, for a movie to be considered successfull, it should earn back 4x the budget. So far, it hasn't hit that mark. And that with no "serious" competition around the release date.

I saw the first Bad Boy movie in the theater over the weekend and there were maybe 20 people in the theater. It was definitely a sleeper hit. I think the nominations from the MTV Movie Awards increased audiences awareness and interest in the film. Making it a popular rental.
