If your handle did not come off easy like in this video, try hitting it upwards from the bottom with the palm of your hand. I saw it on a similar youtube by Charles Joyner

This handle design deserves the "HALL OF SHAME HANDLE DESIGN" and one of the worst. The handle is loose and i tried your method pushing upwards as well as downward and doesnt budge. I have once before changed the handle under warranty. Trying to slip a needle nose in the space between the handle to loosen out the screw and remove it. Can't believe an American design as worse as this.

Actually it wouldn’t lift up no matter how hard I tried. Mines really loose so I can even pull away from fridge and kinda see that bracket which looks like it’s not even attached to handle anymore.

How do I add a pic? One screw from bracket to handle was out so it messed with angle when trying to pull handle up. Used a flat head to open the clip that helps hold the main screw tight, then lifted up like you showed. Worked.

After removing handle, I recommend tightening all screws you can see as well so this doesn’t happen.

Am using all the force that I have & it does not budge, the top screws are loose on the handle but the bottom ones are tighter.

No, it should pop up. Push against the fridge and pull up. Hope that works.

I have done that and nothing doing , even tried pounding with the heel of my right hand while pushing up with my left. Will try overnight spray with liquid wrench & try again tomorrow.

@@fixitbro4851 Got it , took some pounding with a rubber mallet at the bottom of the handle , and popped right off. nothing rusted and the top star screw was loose and unbelievable found the correct star bit right away, tightened it up slid the handle back on . Thanks a million .

So, after more online research, we found the problem. The installation guys put the handles on upside down, so in order to remove them, we had to push DOWN instead of up. No wonder we weren't getting anywhere pushing up!

Oh my gosh we have a loose handle and we have been pushing up and getting no where like it lifts the door up even , now I am going to try pushing down as I am wondering if it was installed upside down also , it is also not keeping cold on the fridge side and ice builds up in that opening when you take out bottom crisper drawer and freezer is frosting up . Of course it is past it warranty.

Check smiliar model fridges ok KZfaq or open up the back of the door where the rubber is to get behind, worth a try

I keep pulling up and it won't budge. Like there is a some sort of extra clip that is holding so that it doesn't fall off.

For my model there is no extra clip. Came off when I pushed upward.

@@fixitbro4851 Mine has been taken off several times to tighten the brackets by the repair man when changing out the ice maker, so I know it can be done. I don't recall anything other than lifting the handle. Mine is a Kenmore Elite. After many years I have figured out why it is the left handle to the freezer that is always getting loose. Everyone presses their thumb against the handle (freezer side) to open the refrigerator side.

Maybe you have to pull on it harder or wiggle it but if it's too much pressure it might break, I wish you luck

Fix It Bro yes, it is a white one, maybe cheaper model than the one you are working on, but the handles are identical.

Fix It Bro I will look around some more, but probably have to call a repair man. This is a known problem with these handles. Saw quite a few reviewers complaining about it--after we bought it of course!😔
