Lord Jamar came by to talk with VladTV about Troy Ave out on $500,000 bail, Bobby Shurmda not being able to make bail due to various charges, how the morals of the streets are different now, and plenty more. Vlad talked about how the issue with Troy Ave's case is that no one is coming forward with and identifying the shooter and Lord Jamar had plenty to say on the subject. "Somebody taught him not to talk under any circumstances, not a lot of people have moral and codes..just the discipline it takes to stick [to] your guns is something you don't see anymore..."
Lord Jamar talked with us about how the streets aren't like they use to be. "It's easy to do the weak thing, and it's hard to do the strong thing." In regards to taking care of your people when they went to jail, Lord Jamar spoke about how back in the day when someone went down their family would be taken care of, but it's not like that anymore. "Your man's would make sure your good...they gonna make sure you got money on the books, your girl and your seed and all of that, their rent it paid... You don't snitch because your peoples gonna hold you down...at some point, I don't know how that part got cut out." He explained how the police are offering more of a reward these days for people to snitch. "We're living in a different time."
Lord Jamar also talked about taking a different route from the crime scene with rap, but how it's almost impossible for the youth to do the same when they're funneled towards the crime life. "A high number of inner city youth are forced to do some sort of illegal thing, even if it's just hoping the f**king train to get to work, or whatever.." He explained how people are forced into the situation to make money, and they don't see a way out.
When asked his thoughts on those in the wealthier tax bracket Lord Jamar explained how those like Warren Buffet and Bill Gates have "blood on their hands." "We go and Deforest, a whole f**cking forest in the name of good business yet that deforestation directly led to people losing their natural homes. You f**cked up the ecosystem...everything connects all this money sh*t the biggest business motherfuckers they're not clean, trust me something they did something that helped kill people."
Check out the full interview above.

If you're invloved in the criminal world, you accept your role and take responsibility. You get caught up, it's your responsibility to take that loss and keep your mouth shut. if you're a regular law abiding citizen you have no obligation to anyone. It's that simple. Like the line in Godfather, "This is the life we chose".

The problem with your comment is that you've quoted the god father a film based on gangsters and a culture that thrived on stealing money from local law abiding citizens in the name of protection. If a law abiding citizen was a witness to a crime guess what would a criminal would try and do that person for doing their civic duty.

bobby could have afforded bail. but the legal system did not want bobby out. they could not use property only cash. and if you posted cash they was putting you under a micro scope and people wasnt around for that. completely different situations. plus they have weak evidence on troy ave thats another factor.

Yeah I agree you think the Mafia didn't have rival families that they had pinched up or had their spots raided by the cops or the Feds? However I feel it's alright to snitch if you did a crime together but he ain't doing what he needs to do. Like Jamar was saying if he ain't helping your family out or he ain't putting money on your books then personally I don't think he deserves that. It depends also on the situation if one person needs to be free over the other. If the other person got a wife and kids and you single and don't have those type of responsibilities then you should take that hit for him. If that's your friend and he did whatever he should take the rap because that's your boy if he let you take the fall then that ain't your friend at all.

+DaddySmokeYams I'm not for one second saying that Gay or Women's issues are more important than black issues or that these issues are exclusive to each other. People have to fight for their individual causes to get shit done. That's why feminist call themselves feminists and not equalists. My problem arises when Vlad asks Lord Jamar about Women or Gays and he says some problematic or dismissive shit. It baffles me how the man can be so on point when it comes to our struggles as black men and yet so dismissive when it comes to others. And his views are just a reflection of a lot of us. Sexism and Homophobia is so prevalent in the black community ans that shit makes no sense to me. I've talked to black women and Gay Blacks about this. About how they feel like Black men don't support them even though they grieve as harder than anyone when an unarmed black man gets murdered by the cops. And that shit's saddening. That's all I'm saying. You don't have to go to Feminist rallies or Pride parades to not be a part of the problem.

I fucks with Lord Jamar but I'm still pissed at him for saying " white people are guests in the house of hip hop".....I'm mean you can say the same thing about blacks in skateboarding...but we dont...skateboarding is colorless. Its never said " oh he's a good skateboarder for a black guy. Why does it have to be like that for rap or hip hop. I see people of any color 100% equal but Lord Jamar comes across like he thinks white people are all racists out to get black people.

+transcendentmuzic I disagree kinda.... I'm a white dude from a predominantly black area... and I feel like rap music or hip hop tells a story of poverty, of the struggle...poverty ain't a Black thing. And if I was a rapper coming up In the beginning stages of hip hop telling my story would rape be a multicultural thing. Rap is an art form and I dont agree with any race claiming it. white black or purple. I'm not saying that black people didn't originate hip hop and I dont take anything away from the greats but can't we come to a time where is doesn't matter what color you are when your rapping?

+transcendentmuzic and skateboarding did start with bored white suburban surfers...so I'm not getting the difference between my skateboarding and hip hop. Skateboarding it's just known that the color of your skin doesn't matter...and hip hop should be the same way
@transcendentmuzic1398
@transcendentmuzic1398 8 жыл бұрын
Troy Stuart What I mean by "a cornerstone" is a defining characteristic of a culture. Skateboarding is not a defining characteristic of white America and never really was. It was never outright claimed or widely acknowledged by white America as a whole. People of all types took part although it was predominately white at first. Basically it was never racialized like hip hop was. It was a grassroots sport for young people that gradually rose in popularity and was openly exported out to everyone
@transcendentmuzic1398
@transcendentmuzic1398 8 жыл бұрын
Troy Stuart Hip hop on the other hand like I mentioned began in African American ghettos branching out from funk/disco as party music and also to tell the African American experience. It was racialized. It was one of the few things black Americans could call their own.White America for the most part wanted no parts of it until it exploded in popularity in the late 80s/early 90s. When it comes to American history, being black and being poor and being white and being poor are not nor have they ever been the same. Similar, but not the same. In addition to being poor, you must also survive as a black human being in a white dominated society. You've got additional concerns on top of being poor as opposed to being poor, but born into the dominant group, the majority. Both tough, but different spots. All that being said, anyone from anywhere can take part in another culture. Like a white man studying Japanese karate, however you MUST respect the originators. Anyone can be a rapper if they'd like just respect the culture. That's why Eminem is cool

10:20 Lord Jamar gives the alternative to limited thnking... At 10:52 he says what appears to be true to so many people, aka Perception. The real truth is that we all have options - even in the scenario he mentions - we just don't know all the options that exist. The key is convincing people that most things are possible, but they will have to compete against anyone else who wants that same thing. Sometimes the competition is weak and it is a breeze, sometimes you have to prepared for years to win and still come in 2nd, or less... Either way, learn, improve and keep pushing.

they do that everywhere. look around. there could be a video of a baby walking for the first time and people would say the baby aint shit. Internet is the best and worst thing to happen to people.

The irony is that you are hating right now on the people you claim to be hating. I can't speak for everyone but the whole point you can comment on a video on a forum/media platform like KZfaq is to express your opinion- good or bad. Some people say intelligent shit some people say dumb shit some people try and use it to troll, either way it's their right - that is the beauty of technology.

If Mysonne had gotten on the stand in court and snitched it wouldve been career suicide. I don't think Mase, Shyne or any other respected rapper in the industry would associate themselves with a known snitch

+Shmalbert Fleinstein perhaps...but he had just had a baby, soooo wut is more important...bein in your child's life to raise them or havin a succesful rap career/street cred? I cant speak so much on his individual situation cuz i dont know him or have all the facts but puttin how the homies/streets view you over your family is not the move..... there could be some scenarios that are understandable, but I'm just mainly commenting on your statement...it was a hardpill for Mysonne to swallow im sure....at least he's home now

I really like the the fact that L.Jamar challenged Vlad on his whole bill gates and Warren buffet are such clean buissiness men. yeah right, Most successful guru's have had to do major scrupulous deeds to aquire that level of significant wealth. You won't get passed the gate keepers without "sweet heart deals" meaning you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours " that's how you really progress in this country! There's a saying that comes to mind, behind every great fortune is a great crime!

I agree with Lord Jamar. Watch the movie "Inside Man". While the movie is fictional it's about people who become wealthy and like the saying goes, "Behind every great fortune there is a great crime". And the character that portrays this person spent a life time donating to causes and trying to buy back a piece of soul because of the crime to become wealthy.

Jamar is right about Bill Gates. Computers that run windows and mac os are built with conflict minerals that are essential components. These include cassiterite (for tin), wolframite (for tungsten), coltan (for tantalum). Most prominent conflict mineral used in electronics is coltan.
