This guide will show you how to complete Exacter Dunmire's questline and get access to the special Vanguard Barros and Ravager Gregory Weapons and Armor. Dunmire's questline rewards you with his full armor set, his cane, the best Radiance Catalyst in the game, and expands his inventory allowing you to purchase extra items. This will also unlock the The Price of Knowledge Achievement.

For a lot of the people thinking that the quest is bugged. Just make sure you got each of the items first. The order in which he will accept them is a little odd. He took the rosarys from me making me think I had to move on but I had actually missed the hallowed dentinal scripture.

Just one question. I am going for the radiant (good) ending in my first playthrough. Cleansed all beacons so far, I am in Upper Calrath on my way to Bramis Castle. Entering in the wall does lock out this ending?

I handed him the hallowed scripture, then book of sin, then bloody aspergillum. After I handed him both rosary’s in order, and even though I have all the remaining items, it won’t let me hand them to him. Any way to fix this?

im stuck. i gave 2 items out of order before taking it serious and i had no problems until the dark crusaders call. he just wont accept it. i killed the biss got the rememberance and all but he wont interact

uhh, you need to mention that going into that well locks you out of the regular ending. And if anyone has purified a beam they will be locked out of all endings at this point.

It absolutely does not lock you into the umbral ending. I went to Mother's Lull and completed this quest during my Radiant playthrough.

@@scarvello Your objective in the game is to journey to 5 corrupted beacons and purify them, to prevent the return of the exile Adyr. If you actually go along with this, you'll get locked into the Radiance ending. If you go through the game without purifying any of the beacons, the other two endings become possible. If you just continue to the last level like usual, by default you'll get locked into the Inferno ending, where you help Adyr return instead of stopping him. To get the Umbral ending, you need to not purify any beacons, and also progress a quest in a secret area underground, before continuing to the last level. Adyr's return doesn't matter compared to what you end up doing.

I pretty much did things out of order as usual during my first blind play throughs smh. I think the only reason I even went a Radiance build initially is because Pieta’s sword was so sick when I first saw it lol,

Really? That's a shame. I wonder what caused it. Were you going step by step? If so, I think giving him all of the items at once might be the best strategy

That is the Paladin Armor Set, you can obtain that in the quest to unlock Dark Crusader class

Guessing mine is bugged, on psn. Gave him everything, he moved to mohu, he mentions he want's to decend & I can then find him in the skein but he's both in skein and in skyrest. he never goes to the mothers lull from the skein

So I was doing the fire ending, at some point he just bugged out, but after clearing the ending and not going into a ng, he finally moved completely from skyrest instead of bring at both locations, his skein talking had the right dialogue and then his stuff at the well was there, so at some point during the fire ending if you get that bug, just keep playing through and go back to him / the 10:30 mark in the video as he should complete still.

On my 5th playthrough and this quest has broken for me every single time. After I give him the Rosary’s I get no further dialog options from him and he stays put near his table in Skyrest. I’ve tried restarting the game reloading save files warping in and out. Nothing works. I’ve tried not giving him and of the items until I have them all and still can’t get the quest to update. This is so BS my one of my only complaints about this game is the ridiculous way your supposed to know how to do NPC quest lines. Impossible without Google

Gave him everything thing even the Book of Sinners, and he is stuck on me getting that book even though I was maticulously following Fighting Cowboys 100% walk through. Went back to see if I missed the book but it was gone. I have radiant build and can't finish the questline.😂😢😂

Thank you for making this guide! But it pains me when see our scholarly Dunmire is charmed by the Mother's presence and completely lost his mind. And in the end, probably he let himself be devoured by the Mother. His laugh in the end is creepy. A thing i hate in this game is almost shop NPCs run around too much and they disappear after finishing their quests, especially Stomund. He has good radiance spells for sale but he runs around too much and can dissappear forever if finishing his quest.

I don’t get this game. I thought we were supposed to clear the beacons to progress. It all started off good but i don’t know what the heck I’m doing. I’m sure it will all make sense somewhere. I’ve never been more turned around in a souls game. I kind of like that in a way but sometimes like , where the hell am I , I’m never getting back here. Lol thanks for the video much appreciated.

I fixed the bug by traveling to skyrest resting exiting game and revisiting deeps where the lull is. Hope this helps someone

Appreciate this, he just kept screaming at me to go to the tower. Once I got that last piece forum he just disappeared. There is nothing that gives you any indication he would have went to the mines. That was literally the last place I want to look. Thankfully yes I found him and I was able to finally end this quest. I wish they gave you some kind of hints like from software does in item descriptions. The npc quest lines in this game are a pain.

Yeah absolutely. I mean even Elden Ring usually NPCS would give you quest items. You read the item descriptions and it generally gives you an idea of what you need to do next with them.@@NinjaPups

No it doesn't. You can even go back and light the beacons after visiting mother's lull if you want.

@@NinjaPups no, if you use the scouring thing and enter the well, you are locked into umbral ending, and if you had previously purified a beacon you're fuct. no ending for you.

Do you have a timestamp for which one you're talking about? Throughout the video I use a few, notably dual Lightreaper swords and dual judge cleric's corruppted swords
