Tarini Acharya Best seam bowler of this generation and it’s not close. His the fast bowling version of R Ashwin. Give Ashwin a dry turner and he is probably the best spinner in the world. Give Philander a green deck and he is as good and James Anderson

This is the era that ICC really needed to get the World Test League going. There were multiple strong teams. This England side, Australia, SA, SL were strong at least at home, India. What a pleasure it would have been to watch.

Vernon Philander is a great fast bowler. With a perfect repeating action, he had the ability to swing the ball out and cut in in and together with impeccable line and lenght, he was a very difficult proposition for the batsmen, particularly on the seaming wickets of South Africa

Special thing about that team is that sa won away from home except india and they nearly won in india in 2010 sa lost kolkata test match on late day 5 and they drew test series and in a era where teams dont win away from home in test cricket

@@harsha1989able Yep. They never let him be comfortable in his own skin, 10/11 Ashes then the run up in 2013. Hashim Amla was at his absolute peak at this point and Finn knocked his poles back, clean, twice in a match, not sure anyone else has done that.

What a team we had under Smith. It's really nice to think back to this era of South African cricket. I hope we can rebuild a squad like this under Smith's management too, the current team has so much potential just can't seem to get back to winning ways. Hope there is some young talent in development who can turn things around

This African team never lost a series outside home for good 7-8 years I guess..This was an emotion just like and old Indian team.!! Smith,Kallis,Amla,ABD,Steyn,Morkel,philander woww.. Legend all of them are.!!
