The siren on 59th street is my old nieghborhood. The area where grew up in. Living on 2nd avenue, we were right across the street from it. I remember that siren very well as a child. It was very loud and frightening to me. I got pretty much used to it because I attended 59th street school.

Great, what I like about these siren walks is that, apart from the sirens, it makes me discover these areas that are thousands of kilometers away from me and their history without having to move from my desk ! Can't wait to see what's next !

There is a federal model 7TSiren located in Eddystone it’s between the old fire station and the police station on Saville Avenue

Hey Day Tripping Adventurer, when you see a FS&S (Federal Sign & Signal) Model 7, look inside of the bottom "skirt" (if you know what I mean). If there are two rows of ports, it is a Model 7T, and if there is one row of ports, it is a Model 7. You can also tell if an SD-10 is older by seeing if you can see the ports. If you can see the ports, it is older, while if the ports are enclosed in sheet metal, it is slightly newer. I hope you get to the Culver City, Windsor Hills, and Compton areas of Los Angeles soon, since there are new sirens there.

That was a pretty clean looking 500, I wonder if it was one of the ones that were repainted as recently as the 1970's. Not too many that I've seen that still looking that good.

I like federal SD 10s

Just think about it imagine if I was in Los Angeles if I was on the playground then the federal SD 10 or federal signal 500 SHTT would activate I would be scared

i hope they will reactivate the siren system sometime with tornadoes and tsunami and earthquakes Los Angeles is not so safe. What will alert people from these, if the sirens are disconnected? not everyone in the world have smartphones.

We have a model 7 siren at the Ridley Park fire department but Holmes has a STH10 siren we’re really close to holmes fire company I hear they’re STH 10 siren all the time one day I was waiting in line to get Rita’s I heard the Holmes fire company siren STH 10 siren
