You crack me up with the last comment hahahah but seriously I love that you breakdown potential photos. It hunk it shows that even the best photographers such as yourself don’t always get the best photos ALL the time. Sometimes you have to try again and go back!! Can’t wait for the next video!

haha it's so true tho!! and yes, i think it's important to show everything! we all take crappy photos sometimes and things just don't work out the way we want them to. i find this to be a way for me to journal my mistakes and find improvements, and i know others can relate as well. it's okay to show awful pictures you take! we all learn from those things : )

I've been getting into your videos recently thanks for the KZfaq Algorithm. Amazing video, I'm also getting ready to start my own Filmmaking and Photography channel since its a fun hobby and hopefully continue on as a career, I have a question and do you do freelance work for photography or is it like a side hobby? I do think making that vlog and taking pictures at Coachella would be a fun video to make, due to the fact that it would be a nice Catalog for your KZfaq Channel.

welcome! thank you so much for watching : ) i was a full time photographer with a big roster of clients for a few years, but i moved to another country and that stopped then. i've been doing some freelance work here and there, and it's great! but photography will always be a hobby of mine. yeah, i think coachella would be a nice non-hub video to have, but we shall see : ) excited to watch your filmmaking journey!

@@yewonperry thanks so much! Found it and Ive just watched it! I usually or probably most of the time shoot raw and edit my pictures.. but recently, I got this feeling that I am not using my fuji camera to its highest potential.. which is, i guess… using their film sim..? I guess that’s the number one reason why people buy fuji, isnt it?
@yewonperry
@yewonperry Жыл бұрын
i think film simulation is definitely one of the leading purchase decisions people consider! for me, i was looking for a somewhat smaller camera than a full DSLR (i was a 5d mk ii user for a very long time) and it was on sale as a bundle on Moment. i did minimal research when i purchased it, and ended up learning a lot about the camera as started using it. fuji weekly provides tons of great recipes - i say save some of them, and see what suits your style the best! always here to answer any questions as well : )

Hi Yewon, if you just could choose one, X100V or GR3x?
@yewonperry
@yewonperry Жыл бұрын
oof, they are completely different cameras with different purposes, but i'd choose the x100v. probably because i've had it way longer and traveled to many places with it. it just feels more natural in my hands too! what about you?

Thanks for your reply! I had the X100V (and I loved it) but at some point I felt the need for testing different focal lengths and I got the XT5 (I love it so much, very fast, incredible battery, really improved AF, and incredible room for cropping). But when I’m doing street, and candid photography, I feel quite visible with XT5 (probably as much as with the X100V). And I’m thinking in the GR3X but… I’m not rich so… taking my time to decide. Thanks again. I’m enjoying a lot your videos!

@@TungstenOvergaard I have an xt4 and recently picked up the GR iiix both for the stealthiness and portability. I've only had it for about a week but really love it so far (perhaps I'm in a honeymoon phase though). The fixed focal length can be somewhat limiting, but it also removes a lot of headache when deciding what lens to bring with me when I go out. I found myself leaving my xt4 at home a lot because I didn't want to lug such a big camera around with me, but the GR iiix is so small that there's simply no excuse not to bring it. Whether to go with the x100v versus the GR iiix really depends on a few factors: Do you need a viewfinder? If so then it's a no-brainer. I thought I'd miss a viewfinder, but so far it hasn't been too bad. Do you need a tilt screen? This seems like it would be critical for shooting at the hip, but actually it's less necessary than you think. Snap focus can make up for that. Lastly, do you "see" in 28mm or 40mm? I personally visualize images closer to 40mm, but that's a very individual thing. I'd recommend looking through your xt5 photos and check what focal lengths you tend to shoot with more often. Of course, you could always buy the GR iiix off Amazon and return it within 30 days if you don't like it. That was my plan (or maybe it was the lie I told myself).

love this insight! the XT5 is a fantastic camera but for someone who wanted something more compact, the GR iiix was a no brainer for me. it's so candid and portable. i agree - it's a bit risky but you can always purchase it and return it if you don't enjoy it as much. but i think you'll end up keeping it ; )

Very interesting areas when i visit my wifes sister in LA, such a shame the state and local governments let everything go to hell. People don't realize it because of Disney in Central Florida, but orlando has many interesting areas like LA.

LA definitely has some charms and quirks that other places don't have, and i wish i knew more about orlando! i've only been there as a child to see goofy (lol) and haven't been back..
