Losing it on Her Father

The plaintiff says the defendant is her roommate’s daughter, but the weird girl trashed the inside of the plaintiff’s truck with milk and raw eggs. It still smells after being detailed, so she’s suing for the cleaning costs. The defendant says the plaintiff is her father’s girlfriend and claims the incidence was all her father’s fault because he antagonized the defendant.

How will I get there ? How will I get back? Do I have money? Time? Etc etc. I felt bad for her the whole time but she’s soon to be a mom she needs this.

There is nothing worse than having to be dependent upon people who are abusive to you. The Defendant was on WIC, no vehicle, pregnant, and trying to make ends meet via babysitting. So many of us have the luxury of not having to micromanage and plan every detail of our day just to avoid being put in a vulnerable position or toxic situation. She wanted to use all her WIC in that one trip so that she didn’t have to spend another half a day and bus ticket money to return and shop again. I get it. My hope for her is that she focuses hard on gaining her own full independence in life - emotionally, financially, and otherwise - so she never again has to choose the better of two evils and instead can afford to go grocery shopping last minute if she wants to, pay for her groceries, and drive to work in her own car. That’s true freedom. She can’t expect to destroy property and not pay to repair it - but I understand what led her to go nuts like that. I empathize with her. Rich kids lose their temper and have the luxury of knowing they can afford to pay for the damage. How comforting it must feel to know that you can make mistakes and your finances can protect you. Those with less money literally cannot afford to screw up - it just spirals them deeper down the hole of dependency.

I mean I had a very rough childhood with a similar story to her fathers but I think my dad was worse and he was in and out of jail and he was extremely abusive. The difference is me at 20 years old I definitely know someone who has a car and if I normally take the bus I’m going to make sure I can take the bus back and I would never call my father especially for a favor if I hate him. And the other thing is she has to have money because she gets TANF. I just don’t think she’s the most educated with what she saying about how she doesn’t have money or really a job and she’s eight months pregnant and her baby daddy doesn’t really do anything and then she has to ask her abusive father for favors because she decided that she wanted too many groceries and couldn’t take the bus. I don’t understand how she lives with her mother and they don’t know anyone with a car except the father. Also if I have a job like babysitting and I know I need to get home by a certain time I’m going to make sure I get home at a certain time not do what I want and hope that it works out. I’m telling you this situation has more problems of a lack of education or common sense

You are right. The judge gave her the greatest gift - real-life advice. It’s clear the defendant doesn’t understand how to maneuver through life wisely. Your focus should have been on work, not shopping. If your father is unreliable and aggressive, don’t look to him for support. She is going to be raising a baby soon. I fear these mistakes will continue to the next generation. (Father living in a different state than she does is not a good start for her or the baby.)

As a man who sees this ratchet behaviour all the time; I am getting tired of the excuses and the passes women get. All the women are say; oh she she has a bad relationship with her father and needs healing; but what a man sees, is a woman who has money to spend on her hair, but has no money to pay for a ride, another 20 year old who is pregnant and unmarried, and on the way to becoming a single mother. A woman who shows no remorse, a lack of respect for other people's property, is angry, vindictive, lacks accountability and this is what black men are expected to out up with. We have normalize ratchet behaviour in our community; no thank you. I hope all you women who are giving her a pass; can also give the dad a pass; because he is who he is because he was poorly brought up by a single mother. I see this behaviour in black women regardless if they are educated or not; and yes; 95% of the black women I know are single or single mothers because no man can cope with them. It might not be a problem when you are young, but when you get older; none of these dogooder women who encouraged your ratchet behaviour will be there to help you. I sometimes get calls from the old, single women who were unable to hold down a man; some are having financial probkems, some are having problems with neighbors etc; I refuse to help them because these are the women who claim that they did not need a man or refused to cooperate with a man; do I don't get involved in their business. In fact I try not to deal with them at all

@Anon_E_Mouse : Women are the only ones who can prevent themselves from getting pregnant. They have 30+ forms of birth control. they choose the man to have unprotected sex with, they can take the morning after pill, they can abstain altogether blah, blah. All I can say is this; I have taken responsibility; I know very few black women whom are in long term, meaningful, loving respectful relationships. so I have taken a leaf out of your book; I prefer not to deal with them at all. They are all single mothers, single women, overweight, have bad attitudes and all seem to be wearing weaves or have a stupid wig on their heads. One this I have learnt over the years; nothing is ever a black woman's fault. Somehow they will find a man to blame for everything.

And of course; she will be understood by all the other black women who have done it themselves. So when we decide to disengage and leave the plantation for better women; the same women who abuse us and damage our property call us trash and weak. Well; so be it. They never brought much to the table in the first place. Someone who brings a lot if debt, other men's children, obesity, a very bad attitude and chaos to the table, should know that they can be replaced at any time. I agree I mean normally if you loan someone a car, the person driving is responsible. She could have easily lied too like the plantiff did about her relationship to the father. The defendant coulve said she was never in the car and the man who took the car becomes responsible... I would think if she really didn't know the father that well and he borrowed the car she would sue the person she let borrow it .... But it seems she had some secret animosity towards the daughter or just plain nasty for "teaching" her a lesson... The lesson would be to stay away from toxic people and work hard to gain your own independence for you, and I don't see how she was right to teach the lesson if she lets the "ROOMMATE" DRIVE the car more than her..... Sue the person you had an agreement with .. when you loan a car out the driver is responsible... I wouldn't have taken the time out to hear the story just fix it you drove it you fix it .. the father could've then sued his daughter... But to each their own ideas I guess.

Pregnant by a old ass dude that can’t even send you money this is sad . Ladies don’t sleep with a dude who can’t back you up financially.

I feel so bad for this young lady. I understand how she feels, I can feel her pain in her voice. Her dad and his lying woman should be better adults and help her instead of trying to hurt her.

Did anyone notice how the girl shut down after the judge yelled at the end? You can tell she comes from abuse. 😔 That was sad to watch, even though she was wrong for damaging the property. I’m praying for her and her child. 🙏🏾💙

I love how the judge Breaks down the common sense to her! Not many judges do that. Like trudy would have called her names like always. That's why I always watch this show.

I know exactly how she feels my father is a horrible person. And I promise she will do well without him.

I feel bad for the defendant but she still gotta take responsibility for her actions and she definitely planned that poorly. Why bite off more than you can chew?
