Jin’s dad is the best father in a show full of shit dad’s. May not sound like much competition, but even by overall character standards, the man is just pure grace and humility and I love him and Jin.

Fun fact about Jin and Sun, the actor for Jin didn't know Korean and the Actress for Sun had to teach him.

Although I do believe he wasn't completely new to the language, as I remember hearing the actor say that he hadn't spoken it since being in highschool and just had to sort of re-learn it.

@@justahumanpassingthrough5544 late to the party but yes, he spoke it as a kid and had to relearn. He famously would reshoot lines in the audio booth because he was paranoid he pronounced things wrong, to the point that Hurley's actor got annoyed since they did their line dubs after Jin(the cast had to over dub most scenes because of nature sounds and such making things hard to hear in scene)

Because they are damn good body language and micro-aggressive facial expressions artists. They Best actors can speak volumes with one look. But then they layer in the emotional background music making you want to root for love and happily ever after. Just a guess.

Of ALL the characters that ever had screen time on LOST, Jin's Dad might be the purest and most "good".

Such a great episode. This episode really gives Jin the depth he needed, and it's just heartbreaking. The end is such a gut punch, especially when he talks to his dad. Cannot wait for next week. Definitely gonna be watching the full length for that one. Such a fun ride to the end of the season.

To keep it completely spoiler-free: tbh, a lot things just remind us of things that happen later, or when a character says something and you can't help but think of how what they said way back in Season 1 factors into a very emotional scene much later down the line. And it makes a lot of us Lost veterans very emotional very quickly.

That is too funny about Scott & Steve. Funny how things come out so many years later for a show. Flashback instantly makes me like Jin and understand him more. Jin's Dad is like the only good Dad.

One of my all-time favorites. So many good moments. Jin and Sun are two of my favorite characters. And the thing that Walt was the one that burned the raft, left me in shock.

By the way, David Hasselhoff being super famous in Germany is not a thing. I won't deny there was a time at the end of the 80s beginning of the 90s when Knight Rider hit German television and he sang that song when the Berlin wall came down, he was pretty popular. But that time is long gone. More than that he is actually being ridiculed now for that eating burger off the floor drunk meme.

The actor playing Jin was in Hawaii 5 O. Actress playing Sun is a really big star in S. Korea. I think their real last names are the same, but they're not related.

David Hasselhoff is NOT super famous in Germany. He WAS in the 80s just like everywhere else cause of Knight Rider, but other than that he really is not anymore. He himself thinks that he helped bring down the Berlin Wall back in the day. But he was only invited to sing his song "Looking for Freedom" that was famous back then. That misconception probably helped fuel this ridiculous belief.

For me this is the episode that made me like Jin, up until this point he has just acted and seemed like a jerk, even in the beginning of this one but when you see his point of view it all makes sense and from here on out he becomes so likable and you just want him and Sun to work their problems out! And also I just always assumed she was speaking Korean but we heard it in English. They did something similar in Sayid’s episode. It started off him speaking Arabic but transitioned it in English. But your the explanation makes sense too.
