Yeah definitely, it's what makes lost so memorable for me, the soundtrack definitely adds to it, this scene in Particular had one of the best scores to it, and the scene is haunting enough adding to it, love lost

Yep this show has one of the best soundtracks by far. I also like how each character has their own “theme” with songs that play when the episode evolves around them.

And I got tickets to go see the live show in June In dublin, can't wait.

"The music was nice." Michael Giacchino is a brilliant composer, and really set the tone of this show without writing or acting on it. "Moving On" from the series finale is the only track from the show's score that finally surpassed "Life and Death" for me, after nearly a decade of that composition being the greatest track on the show's score.

It was originally implied it was 1992 but that changed by Season 5. Ben is shown to be living with The Others in 1988 when he kidnaps Alex, clearly suggesting the Purge happened already. It's also been stated in the truce between the hostile and dharma that there was an agreement that there time in the island would not exceed 15 years which puts the end date at 1988 latest. It's also been stated that the funding for Dharma was cut in 1987. So there's a ton of evidence suggesting a late 80s date rather than early 90s. It seems at the time he deposed Widmore, Ben was living in the jungle with The Others but then moved them into the Dharma barracks in the early 90s and exiling him in the submarine

Jacob didn't justify this. Jacob gave the order that the dharma must be removed because they're drilling into the source. Widmore is the one who decided how to remove them and one of the reasons Jacob banished him.

Source is neither good nor bad, it simply sustains life on the planet by all means necessary. Jacob protects the source, but he is not an angel. MiB is not bad or good, either. He simply wants to destroy the source and escape the prison of the island, no matter what. Jacob would sacrifice thousands just so the battery is working and timeline will not threaten its termination. By our morals, they are both bastards. Jacob at least has keeping life in general going for him. While MiB is just plain selfish. Both brothers are demi-gods, they exist for thousands of years, their game is on a whole another level. The series clearly state in the end, no matter what you did in life, after death you will go back to the source, once you are ready for it, and you went through personal penance.

The nerve gas attack was an offensive strategy devised by Dharma though, aimed at wiping out the others. Dharma signed the truce that stipulated they could not remain on the island for longer than 15 years. When that time came Dharma had no intention of leaving and intended to gas the others to end the War and remain on the island. Unfortunately for them, Ben was a mole for the others and informed them of the tempest station. Then Widmore ordered the purge as a pre emotive strike

Also, why the he'll do you think they even created the tempest and that deadly gas if not to use it against The Others, who didn't want them on the island and were interfering with their research experiments? DHARMA were not innocent

He probably wouldn't die but it would probably be uncomfortable for him to breathe and he would be coughing alot. Im judging this from the fact that M.I.B (Locke) smacks and knocks him unconscious twice.

Richard can die, he just doesn't age. If he were shot ten times, he would die. Jacob didn't make him untouchable, just ageless.

Numerous reasons. We find out later that The Others formed a truce with DHARMA while Eloise Hawking was Leader of The Others. This ceased hostilities between the two groups for a time, but there were certain rules The Others had stipulated must be followed for them to allow Dharmas presence, all of which they eventually broke. When Eloise left the island her far more militant and ruthless successor Charles Widmore eventually called an end to the truce and ordered the Purge to wipe them all out and 'protect the island'. By this point they had a mole within Dharma, Benjamin Linus, so they used him to turn Dharmas own lethal gas they'd developed against them

This is what Jacob was responsible for protecting and what makes the island such a unique and important place. The Dharma people were interested in the scientific uses of this energy and repeatedly drilled into these energy pockets, which caused numerous problems and risked putting the light out altogether, so in the end that's why they had to go. Not only that but they had developed a lethal gas that could be released island wide which they clearly intended to use to wipe out The Others, so it was also a matter of survival for The Others who launched a pre emptive strike to use their own gas against them which is what you see in this scene

They built stations whose sole purpose was to devise offensive strategies against the others, to kidnap them brainwash them and release them back with no memory, they set up military teams, hired an 'interrogator' and when their agreed 15 years on the island was drawing to an end and they were due to leave they developed the lethal gas at the tempest aimed at wiping out the others instead. Not to mention the whole time they were breaking the rules about drilling and even building drilling stations on the others territory that they'd agreed to stay away from. Every rule they agreed they wouldn't break they broke

So perhaps they all can't commit suicide (like in dynamite scene), but they all definately can be killed (MiB)...
