This episode also kind of explains what Jacob's Lists are about and why he had the Others kidnapping all the children early on. It seems that they were destined to be taken to the Temple for safekeeping since the Smoke Monster was rampaging about, and the children would stand no chance against it.

How have they not realized that their lives in the flashsideways are completely different than their lives in the flashbacks we saw in s1-s3. Locke was an angry, depressed man who lived on his own and hadn't seen Helen for who knows how long when he went to Sydney in s1. In the flashsideways, he is much happier and in a good relationship with Helen.

The lady at the temp agency (before Rose) is the fortune teller in one of Hurley flashback. Really nice detail to see that she worked for Hugo in the flashsideway. Played by Suzanne Krull who died in 2013 (rip)

I love you Normies and your reactions, and have to share...I was Emilie de Ravins stand in & hand double for the most recent movie she did (Lifetime's "A Lover Scorned"). I know it would make you guys happy to hear she is the NICEST person irl. She was pregnant at the time, with her baby boy, and as a mega fan of Lost, it was surreal to work alongside her (she talked about working on Lost (filming in the sand/setting up rigs in the sand/ and Once Upon a Time ( which she had just finished). Ben, as a human being is not likable. His view of the world and his moral compass make him interesting. It's how he cleverly makes people think *they* are the ones making the decision. It's how he knows he will never be the popular one but still issues the orders to achieve what he believes to be the best way forward. He has a tragic backstory, much like Locke, but chose to become a wolf instead of a sheep...and it's all Sayid's fault! It's not that we like the man, but love the character.

14:05 OK, big question, one of the few, I couldn't even manage to figure out a strong enough explanation for. Ilana says, Locke can't change anymore, he's stuck this way. We as the audience know, that he must have had a variety of different appearences throughout the show, even on screen sometimes! BUT *WHY* CAN'T HE CHANGE ANYMORE??... I tried my best to come up with something satisfying at least, but all I could come up with is the cabin. That maybe the man in black used that in order to change his appearance. I have no idea how or why, but it's just the only connection that I could find, that could theoretically explain that. Because relatively at the same time, when the man in black in lockes body went for his main mission why he returned to the Island, Ilana and Co burned the cabin (another possible clue. Why else would they have to burn it anyway?). And during that time, fake Locke maybe still could have changed, but we all know, he wanted everything but that. But there has got to be a more simple solution, right? Mine is convoluted and incomplete.

[SPOILERY QUESTION] Okay, so when Fake Locke led Sawyer to climb down that ladder (of Sawyer's own free will, by the way) was he trying to kill him (or, more accurately, to get him to kill himself since he can't do it directly)? It makes sense and would be similar to way back in season 1 when Jack was chasing his father through the jungle and fell off a cliff. BUT as Sawyer was struggling to save himself on the ladder, didn't Fake Locke grab him and pull him in? It seems if Fake Locke did nothing, Sawyer might have died. I suppose at that point, it was possible Sawyer was going to save himself and Fake Locke wanted to maintain Sawyer's trust. Hmmm....

Get out of 'my house' says Sawyer. Back in Eggtown, when Sawyer was living with Kate, he told her "this is MY house". This would match with my theory that the ring was buried in 2004, in the house he shared with Hurley (which also happened to be Juliet's house). And Flocke's enigmatic "this isn't your house, James. This was never your house. You just lived here for awhile." Sawyer seems taken aback by this statement - how does he know? - because he then says "who ARE you?!" Again, all kinds of subtext in this episode. Richard comes running out of the jungle. "Flocke wants to kill 'everybody you care about'. When was the last time we heard this phrase? In Season 5 when Sawyer said 'Everybody I care about just blew up on that dam boat!'" And what did he mean by 'everybody'? That same episode has a major clue. When Juliet asks him why he jumped from the helicopter. "I jumped so 'she' - er 'they' - could get to the boat."
