I agree I think season 3 was probably the weakest. Revealing the others to be just normal people for the most part was kind of a bummer. I was hoping for them to be a little more sinister and enigmatic while also being sophisticated.

Season 2 was so incredible because on top of everything going on with the island, you have this constant background issue of the time constraint with the hatch every 108 minutes. It’s such a simple concept but executed so well. It added urgency to every situation no matter how mundane in season 2 because every 108 minutes some shit would go down if the button wasn’t pushed!

The director/DOP along with the composer Michael Giacchino got this scene spot on, the tension that builds from 02:00 is just sublime

@@bloke_19xx33 Yeah but the song keeps playing even during the jump cuts, so we see the song start when he starts the record but there are still jumpcuts. Conclusion: No way to tell the "correct" time the explosion happened

@@viptech_c5286 Look at the interval from 53 seconds to 2 minutes 1 second ( just when the explosion stopped the song at ‘musi-‘ ). Thereafter, the music ‘score’ started playing. There may be a split second ‘here and there’ subject to interpretation, but if that was the Producer’s/Director’s intention, it just added to the mystique of the numbers sequence throughout the show. I can’t confirm this, but the shower head? Looks close to 42.individual holes in it.

I used to download the episodes because it hadn't aired in my country, when I sat down to watch the episode I thought somehow I had downloaded the wrong show. Then I kept watching and had a total mind fuck!
