There is actually a movie about Geiranger called Bølgen. It’s a movie based of natural powers that can be catastrophic if not taken care of in the right way.

Such a great video! It so cool to hear everything that you say about Norway, especially Geiranger, since this is where I am from and where I lived until I was 16 and had to move to go to high school! :) Really hope you enjoyed your stay in Norway. PS: My dad does the half marathon every year by bike ;) and the oldest participant was 80 years old!

We went to aurlandsfjord and it was super touristy because of this one lookout point overlooking the fjord. Drive up the road 5 minutes and walk like 50M from the parking lot and there’s an incredible view with nobody around. Norway is just so pretty everywhere, like you said - it pays to avoid the tourists and just go slightly off the main tourist areas for views all to yourself!

Those roads! I made a road trip through Finland, Norway and Sweden a few years ago. And I remember perfectly those roads. Lofoten is like the best from Norway. I went to North Cape and it was awesome. Thank you for the video!

You should have to gone to Lofoten as well. Absolutely amazing, and even more amazing the further out on the archipelago you get. Reine and the Reinebringen view point have got to be among the most beautiful places on earth

Tip: Take a plane to Bodø, then take the passenger boat, called Hurtigruten, north to Harstad. This is one of the most beautiful sea voyages in the world. You want the midnight sun when you come to Lofoten. And if the weather is fine, you won't sleep for a second on this trip (so you don't need a cabin). Then you can rent a car and drive to Lofoten and/or to the seaside of Vesterålen. Example of small places like Nyksund is worth a visit.

Geirangerfjord is truly stunning, but yeah, you will sadly never experience it alone... It is considered the most beautiful fjord for several reasons: It's unusually narrow, and it's framed by the tallest, most majestic mountains of any fjord. Because the peaks are so tall, they are snow-capped throughout the entire summer, and the cliff-sides are draped in green foliage and there are waterfalls everywhere -even more so than other places. The fjord is home to probably the prettiest waterfall in Norway, called the seven sisters - only accessible by boat. You take ferry or join a kayak tour to reach them.

I agree in May Geiranger was also touristy but still great to see. Taking the Skiff boats in the fjord is a fun thing to do there. Check both places as one was much less $. Also not sure if it was clear enough to go to the look out way above Geiranger looked like it was too cloudy for you that day. That look out was insane and was totally GOT area. Can't wait to see more of your trip there.

I agree, Geiranger is beautiful, but there are so many other places in Norway that are at least just as equally beautiful if not more and without the crowds. We spent two and a half weeks travelling around Norway's fjords and Geiranger was by far the most touristy place we visited. But then again everywhere you go in Norway, it is just insanely stunning!

Hotel Utsikten just below Flydalsjuvet has the best view IMHO. Hope you didn't skip going to Dalsnibba. Afaik the highest point in northern Europe that you can drive to. Almost 1500m(~4850ft) ASL, and got an incredible view.

Its funny to watch these videos, cause I have been to almost all the places seen in the video series! And I was actually driving around the west coast about the same time as you guys this year! Gerianger is mostly known for its fjord, not the actual town. You should get on one of the ships and take the cruise, it's magical!
