@@zaqwerty22 In the US, if Green requested his phone records, and cell site information he would see OP was in the area. They only need three cell sites to lock a location. In the late 1990s code division multiplexing called CDMA was used with PCS phones. That system talks to the phone all the time and the end results is it can tell if you are moving closer to a cell or further away. The only way around this is if the area was rural and there were only two cell sites that picked up his signal. They wouldn't know exactly where he was at that point but they would know he was in the general area. He said his home was 10 minutes away.

It's fiction, also, Greene is a recurring character, backstory being that the chief of police in his old force banged his wife, at least that's what I remember, and in other stories he's let people get away with murder before, almost in all cases, a wronged husband killing an affair partner lol
