It's good to see that Colonel Flag survived the Korean war. :)

This is his 3rd LG appearance. It's also David Spielberg's 2nd appearance. He was in the episode 'Harassment earlier in the season.

Yes, the media has been hyping up the failed business man for years. He's their creation.

To be fair, the press does try to make more out of a story than what it actually is and in this case expected estimates of damage before the fire was even out. Then when it was found to be the City's fault they just kind of blow it off, instead of giving a full apology like they should have.

That has a lot to do with the amount of competition these days . It was bad enough for media before the advent of internet press .

WWII is one reason Japan had HD TV back in the 70s. They could rebuild their infrastructure from scratch.

Given the fact that all of Rossi's and the Tribs suspicions were found to be baseless and they were called out on it, the Trib comes off as pretty self-righteous in this episode.

China, the latest entry into the global market has been a big winner and saying that the age of Our industrial plants have aided the decline in Our GDP is quite true. China on the other hand has everything new.

There is always an old reporter that is out of ideas. Each episode it is a different guy. And the guy that plays Adam has played multiple roles on here - though the others by voice. As a reporter, an announcer, etc. Heard, not seen, unless he is playing Adam. Did anyone else notice this?

Edward Winter (1937-2001). Also played Col. Flagg on "M*A*S*H." He and Asner worked together at least three times--Winter had a guest role on "Mary Tyler Moore."

IMO 9:23 - 9:30 is liberal Ed Asner reacting to conservative Ronald Reagan being elected president, not Ed acting as Lou Grant

The ugly side of journalism. Interested in sensationalism, distorting the truth and not caring about the consequences. The company men in this episode come across as decent people whereas the journalists (particularly Rossi and Newman) are self-righteous, angry and anti-business.
