A 30ft dive on one breath??? Somebody should've told him it was a terrible idea!!!

30ft is hella deep for a dive with no scuba gear and your untrained. Extremely dangerous. I don’t know what he was thinking.

I grabbed my chest😩 the heartbreak she must feel 😢 and the panic he must have went through trying to hurry back to the surface. Ugh my heart hurts

I believe what this poor man never took in to account was the fact that under 30 feet of water, there is substantially more pressure on the body, and lungs, which most likely prevented him from holding his breath for as long as he may have at around 5, or 10 feet of water. God bless him, and his fiancé, along with their families and friends, who now have to deal with the grief of a life taken too early.

Poor guy died proposing to his love, this is so sad, i know he may be at fault for not preparing better but it doesn't make the situation any less tragic.

He predicted his own death. His note said.. "I can't hold my breath long enough to tell you everything I love about you." Apparently he was right.

It's unfortunate that we lose indaviduals such as him. The selfless ones, the loving, the compassionate ones.

Having proposed myself, the physical lode is impossible to anticipate - i feel like you get down on one knee because guys were tired of passing out. My heart was thumping like i was running the hardest race of my life and it was hard enough not to seem nervous, let alone control your oxygen level and intake. My guess is that as soon as he got close to the window to do the proposal, his adrenalin was just dumping, and his body was using the oxygen really fast because of the fight or flight you get. You can see his hand begin to shake like someone who’s about to pass out from oxygen deprivation (i swam competitively for years and have seen it happen when people are trying to show off once or twice - and come very close to losing it myself)

DAMN! ! ! ! ! That's like standing on the roof top of a 3 story building with water as high as to the top of the roof, and having to swim all the way down to the ground, propose, and still need to swim back to the top on ONE breath 😲

I know that he wants to show how much he loves her but I wish he had thought he has a lifetime to show it to her, if only he kept it simple. It is heartbreaking for his loved ones to see him go this way so young.

That’s so tragic, the day before he was probably planning his whole life with her, imagine trying to swim up for air but not making it in time. Keeping them and their families in my prayers 💕

A real tragedy. I can only hold my breath maybe 45 seconds. He was outside the room 30 ft under water 0:35. It could take him 20 seconds to get to her window. Then to propose and maybe 20 seconds back up.

I was reading about this on Facebook they traveled to this beautiful place and he planned this proposal 🥹 so sad the lady was all giddy and happy she goes to the top to meet him and waits only he didn’t surface she screams for boaters they couldn’t revive him it’s believed he may have suffered a heart attack. I couldn’t even imagine the happiest day of your life turning into the worst. To make matters worse when your in another country and you die it takes thousands of dollars to ship your body back so the family had to set up a go fund me. That sweet couple hit by tragedy you just never know.

The moment I knew something was wrong was his hand shaking and I knew immediately he was running out of oxygen. That broke my heart.

He wanted to get his message across so badly he stayed down a little too long. Sad rip.
