The episode aired on the First 48(season 15 ep8). He definitely comes from a good family. Chile Gabby&Chis...a hot mess. She definitely used him for his money.

Blood aint always thicker than mud, im very close with my family but thats not the case for everyone. Doing a 9 yr bid and his siblings didn't go see him at all, yea I would be in my feelings too so of course hes drawn to Monique cause when ur inside thats all u want and his family didn't do that but expect him to just be fine with it...I think over time he'll talk to them but then again maybe he won't

I think Derek is trying to get his life in order and that include getting rid of the toxicity which is his family there's a reason why they didn't visit him in prison and now they're feeling threatened by Monique bcuz she was there for him when they weren't. Right now all i see from Derek is a man trying to regain normalcy but his family is interrupting that Monique is very insecure and Derek sisters know how to hit that nerve with her every time so that will make Derek exit more than any thing. Monique likes drama bcuz Derek has told her to ignore his sister's yet she continues to engage and I honestly think the sisters are looking for their 15 minutes of fame bcuz they have done lives speaking on Monique and it's pretty much body shaming bcuz that's all they have which is very much juvenile behavior

They are not going to last. Especially with her being controlling and into the drama with he’s sisters. After getting out of prison that’s the last thing he needs or wants right now. The 2nd couple you mentioned… for some reason I get a creepy vibe from them. I don’t know if it’s her or him but they seem off to me.

I think ur on to something with the mom thing. Seeing that his mother was killed and when he was a child makes sense. She was on first 48. Very sad. His mother was killed on her birthday 😢
