I have made this recipe for years here in Maine we call them donut muffins . We had a home fire in our neighborhood and I made 6 batches of these for the fireman fighting the fire all night. God bless our firefighters . Love this recipe and thank you for all you do .

We learned to make these -just the same- when I was in 7th grade Homemaking class back in 1964🙄 ... as yummy as ever... thank YOU PAULA & Co. for such a sweet & satisfyingly delightful stroll down nostalgia lane‼️😘 I’m a-goin’ to whip up some of these today‼️ I even still have my hand-copied recipe folder from that fun class ... I loved 7th grade Homemaking Classes ... first cooking & then sewing ... lifelong necessities for me & ultimately my darlin’ family with bonus kiddos too‼️

MANY Chinese restaurants make pretty much the exact same dessert. They start with STANDARD biscuits, tear in half, roll in a bowl of sugar, & lastly....If you desire, sprinklje cinnamon on them! 👀 😋 👍🏻

Paula, I live in NY Hudson Valley we are going backwards even those vaccinated have to wear masks. As the CDC has said we are one of the areas.. So here is to another year of quarantine. I take medicine to wipe out my immunity because it is attacking me as I have RA , Celiac disease, and others So I can't be out around others. I watch you all the time . God Bless you!

Just got back from your restaurant in Branson Missouri and boy it didn't disappoint! The fried chicken, peach tea and the ooey gooey cake is to die for!!! Thanks for the treat and the great service! Also, the gift shop is a plus...I got a big plaque, her seasoning salt, and apron!

I used to make a Cinnamon Coffee Cake from the Pillsbury Complete Book of Baking that was similar to this. It was baked in a 9x13 dish and when it done you poked holes in the top and drizzle melted butter over and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. It was so good--it did taste like buttermilk doughnuts and was so easy to make.

That’s the same thing as French Breakfast Puffs .. I’ve made these for over 40 years, but after they’re dipped in butter, put them in a brown paper bag & put the cin/sugar in there & shake till evenly coated!!

Paula up here in New Brunswick Canada I first made them in Junior High in home economics class we call them French Breakfast Puffs. A staple in our house. Love your show and have made many of your recipes.

Eddie is amazing...when Paula is reading the letter at the start you see his reflection in the microwave. He is shooting this all on a mobile phone! He is just holding it and moving around. Wow. He does as good a job as many 'professional' camera people with all their fancy gear. Kudos to you Eddie.

Hey Paula! You said you used shortning in this recipe. In cooking, what is the difference between shortning and butter?

Shortening is the solid white trans fat, like Crisco.

These are nearly EXACTLY like Apple Cider Doughnuts I made last week, just replaced the Milk w/apple cider and the sugar w/coconut syrup. Dipping and rolling just the same. Paula--I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU CONTACT ME FOR THE RECIPE!!!!

I just have to ask what that appliances on the left side of the cooktop. It looks like an air fryer, but when you used an air fryer in one of your recipes, that is not what you use. Also, it changes color from time to time. I have seen it in blue, but in this video it is yellow. Can you explain, please, cuz I'm getting confused.

I'm grateful you were there as well. I wasn't quarantined alone...but was neglected horribly by the medical community. I have an unstable spinal cord injury and autonomic dysreflexia from a bad hip and leg. I almost wish I had died, instead of getting a second spinal cord injury, but you kept me wanting to live. Two cups of sugar? Endocrinologists and dentists must love you.
