It was!! This made me think about my own life SO much. I could relate with just about everything. I have that kind of mom and friend too and it gave me a bit of insight about what i should do and some hope for the future.

Omg you are so right! I just finished it too and a couple times it made me cry lol. It is dead on when it comes to relationships. It's more about how her insecurities from her mother and her childhood reflected in her relationships with men. She was always searching for the love and acceptance she never got from her mom. She was looking for validation in her relationships. and as she went to therapy and fixed the relationship with her mom she grew stronger and really loved herself. she was able to leave them and move on to better and better until she found the actual one. It really resonates with so many women I think...we start out chasing this childish idea of love and that when we find the one our lives will be perfect... we usually follow the mans lead so we don't get rejected and we ignore all the red flags just to have a relationship that we think is heading towards marriage cuz marriage is the almighty belief when ur young that it is true acceptance and validation that we are lovable...when we break up we think we will never find someone else and cry for weeks lol. Then we do find someone else and we look back on it and we are able to see they weren't the right person and can see all the red flags. We take what we learned to the next relationship and the next, but we still hold other insecurities so we date a slightly different guy each time but still the wrong ones. We just keep evolving and shedding insecurities from our youth and almost fine tuning untill we grow and get what we really want...the more she worked on herself and grew as a person the better her relationships were with her friends/family/ and men were...as we grow older we start to think about more of what we want and aren't afraid to ask for it...we arent afraid to say it's not working when it's not cuz we know from experience that there are plenty of fish in the sea...so hard to explain lol but it is so much deeper than this trailer. This trailer makes it look like a cheesy romcom.

The final shot is of her perched on the branch, staring into the camera with a mouse tail hanging out her mouth. Camera slowly zooms in, tension builds......then she quickly swallows the tail and cut to credits. Boom! Plot Twist!

Right? I can maybe see why people dislike it if they've only seen the trailer since it makes it look generic. I think the format and how good the actors are kept it from feeling predictable. All the characters felt like real people. *SPOILERS below:* . . . . . Darby and Augie & Sara and Jim not ending up together made it feel more realistic too. Too bad I was rooting for them to end up together 🥺
