This concert was from 2019, almost 5 full years ago and both of them, despite being phenomenal at the time, are significantly better guitar players now. Show them Judgement Day next.

That was a good reaction! Yes, it was two songs "Epilogue" and "Don't bite the dust" from the concert that called "Daughters of the dawn" (or it is the dvd name). "Epilogue" is one of their E-songs. These E-songs you can call power ballads and there are three of them. All of them are very emotional songs! The rest songs are "Edge of the world" and "Empty daydream". Epilogue(lyrics - Asami, music - asami/Mao) is , I believe, their slowest song. It's from the 2nd album, Clockwork Immortality. The other song you listened to, Don't Bite the Dust(lyrics -Miho, Music -Miho/Mao) is from the debut album, Awakening From Abyss. Haruna plays Pearl drums. You're daughter might not be able to play that drum kit without adjustments, Haruna is only 4'9". Daughters of the Dawn, IS a DVD title, their 2019 concert in Tokyo. The other concert videos you have seen ,and will see, are Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020(Five of a Kind DVD), Live in Tokyo 2021(Heavy Metal Never Dies DVD). and Live in Tokyo 2023 (Knockin' At Heaven's Gate DVD). The only one of those you haven't seen anything from yet , is the 2023 concert with new bassist Fami. Try , from there, Judgement Day, Hammer of Wrath, or Stand and Deliver(Shoot 'em Down).

Glad you enjoyed it!! You can't put these women into any one genre. Miyako(dark hair guitarist) is a classical trained pianist and picked up the guitar at 18 and is self taught. The other half of the M&M show, Midori dropped out of college at 20 to enter a prestigious music school for guitar. They are polar opposites but harmonize at various speeds like no other duo out especially LIVE. Haruna on drums at 4' 9" is a beast that drives this band from start to finish, her cymbal work is legendary. Asami writes the lyrics and sings in English and as a backup R&B/Soul/Jazz singer and ballet trained dancer she often has very positive messages in the band's songs. Miho/bass the founder who left for personal reasons was always the Steve Harris clone and head banger extraordinaire. This band is her dream of a more European sound in Japanese metal and will forever be her legacy. The mentioning of Judas Priest and one of your daughters remarking on drum kit at the same reminded me when a friend of mine Les Binks who drummed with Priest in the late 70s and toured in Japan! Incidently another friend bought his red pearl drum kit in the early 90s and I got a chance to play on it. Both friends were from my home town! Great reaction and thanks for the memories!! 😎🤟

Great that Miriam and Abby got introduced to Lovebites. Listening to Asami sing the chorus and there is the James Brown technique of varying the voice in a single syllable. That is definitely a blues style mixed with hard rock and heavy metal. One of your daughters noted how much she like the drummer (Haruna). There are definitely some other drummers from Japan that she would love to see. There are so many talented bands and musicians from Japan. Check out this drummer. Don't Bite the Dust is a 'pick me up' after bringing the crowd down low with Epilogue. Can't leave them sullen and quiet so you have to get them fired up again, standard live concert practice.

Epilogue (2018) and Don't Bite the Dust (2017) are two songs that were written by the band members (not covers). I don’t know what kind of music your ladies like and that’s why I didn’t understand what they were laughing at during the first song. What they found funny in the Epilogue is unclear to me. Very serious lyrics. Perhaps these lyrics can only be understood by a person who has suffered a lot of grief and suffering. A lady I know started crying the first time she watched the video of the song Epilogue being performed. The lyrics, Asami's voice, and the performance of the song shocked her.Although in ordinary life this lady is like the Iron Lady - Margaret Thatcher. Doesn't show people your emotions. Perhaps my friend cries when she listens (watches) the Epilogue because she saw how her parents were killed. Because he knows the value of human life and knows what human pain is.
