Yeah, Lovebites has a strong Maiden, Priest, and Helloween style. Which is why "older" metal fans love them so much! Hehehe!

Above all others bands I gravitate towards Lovebites..As if an invisible cord constantly pulls me towards their direction.

Some people hear their 80s guitar tone sound and think "oh this is old", which it most definitely is NOT. They are keeping heavy metal alive and saving it from the doom and gloom being promoted by other bands. One of the reasons they dress in white. They are the lone wolves of heavy metal which is why the wolf is their mascot and pictured on the front of every album. Hence the name WOLFPACK was adopted by the fan base.

I so agree with the Iron Maiden vibe....I am a big fan of this group as they take me back to the days of British rock in the 80s. I could recommend many though personally I would say discover them on your own!! However, same concert "set the world on fire" leaves me breathless 😎🤟

Shadowmaker is my favorite overall song from Lovebites. This was probably the 100th time listening, and I still get tears in my eyes during that darn guitar solo and duet section. Everything about this song is awesome.

"Scream for me" easily has their best guitar battle, the solos are incredible. If you can find their performance from "daughters of the dawn", it's the most atmospheric. Quality is also really good.

I'm glad that you've returned to Lovebites. I like how drummer Haruna is doing stick tricks from time to time despite the intensity of their music haha. Also the black-haired guitarist was pregnant during this concert. Shadowmaker is one of their best songs, but they really have no bad ones as far as I'm concerned. Some I like better than others, sure, but you can't really go wrong with any of them. I would recommend listening to The Crusade or Golden Destination next. Both are excellent songs and very Iron Maiden-esque. And both have great music videos if you want to listen to a studio version for a change. Great reaction chaps! As others have mentioned, try Signs of Deliverance for a technically perfect twin guitar solo. Midori & Miyako spend hours of practice to produce such flawless performances. Yes, they are unbeliveable. Duo gitarist so crazy, Miduri &Miyako so confident to harmonise with sound so loud, never worry of mistake. Haruna the drummer, hours of fast beat looks easy to her. Miho, finger running fast on fret board amazingly. Vocalist Asami with golden voice and high note.. unbeliveable. Lovebites, whole package was magical band. I remember that you guys needed to warm up to them, but good on you for giving them another go. The original MV for this was the one that broke them to the world, and left a lot of people wondering if they can actually play this live. Question answered. They always nail it live, which is nuts given how intense all of their songs are. Small side note: MIyako (dark-haired guitarist) was 4+ months pregnant when they did this show.

Their most mind-blowing guitar solo for speed and precision is probably "Shadowmaker" or "When Destinies Align". WDA is quite similar to this song so might not be what you are looking for. They have a song titled "Scream For Me" where they do an incredible guitar "battle" which is probably what you are looking for. It isn't as fast but they go back and forth multiple times and get creative with their solo parts that you will find quite interesting. The live video of it is from 2019 when they weren't quite as polished as they are now but it is still a phenomenal perormance. "Scream for me" has the best battle but I think my favorite solo so far is "when destinies align" official music video although that song is very power metal and a bit repetitive. "We the united" live at Depp City Diver has a great duel solo also. There are honestly so many.

A few of the thrashers and also the twin tapping is also used on (We The United, and especially on Signs of Deliverance) for thrashers that sound like Slayer/Metallica/Maiden/Priest (Break The Wall,The Crusade,M.D.O) for ballads (Edge of The world,Epilogue) for rockers not as dark but still fast (Rising,Empty Daydream,Burden of Time) for covers of other bands (Love Bites and so do I-Halestorm, Painkiller-Judas Priest, and Eagle Fly Free-Helloween)

Good to see you back with Lovebites. What took you so long? As far as Freebird goes - LB mainly go fast from the start whereas Freebird starts slow and then cranks up. But in all honesty virtually all their tracks have great guitar work.

Your return to Lovebites was a happy surprise today. Of the three songs that you have heard, I would personally put Shadowmaker between Swan Song and Holy War. Both Shadowmaker and Swan Song were written by Miyako which shows her song writing skill. I suggest Set The World On Fire (another Miyako song) or Break The Wall (the only Miyako and Miho collaboration) as your nest listen. Break The Wall has a Miyako solo that still gets to me every time I hear it. Edge of the World is a really good prog metal song but was not written by any of the band members.

You've done Holy War, Swan Song, Shadowmaker.... some of their most Power Metal / Heavy Metal stuff. You love guitarwork, so you are ok with that, but Lovebites is more varied that what you might think, always stick to those 80s metal though. I would say check *Break the Wall,* thrash stuff, but also with excellent guitarwork.

The ladies are just incredible. I would definitely look at their songs When Destinies Align, Winds of Transylvania, and their latest, Glory to the World. The only band I can think of with similar guitarists would be Dragonforce.

They only do excellent. Listen to “Gates of Babylon” by Rainbow”, the opening and closing riff is almost identical but much faster. Miyako (dark hair) was fed a diet of Purple and Rainbow growing up (whilst mastering the piano to concert standard) by her parents.

the thamesmen according to wiki was a fictional band popularized by spinal tap. but growing up in the late 50's and 60's i thought i remember them as a real london based band. am i wrong ? you guys probably know. and bungle in the jungle threw me for a loop after tull being my favorite band then. the first 4 or 5 albums were masterpieces all of which i still have the original vinyl i bought then. including the pop up early version of 'stand up'. they should have left 'bungle' on the back burner. and the only song from 'benefit' that made it to radio was 'teacher' when every other song on it was much better. 'nothing to say' and 'inside ' both kicked teacher's butt out of the classroom ! but LOVEBITES may be the most perfect band i've ever seen in every aspect. japanese ladies kicking everyone's ass. whoulda thunk it ?

Lovebites doesn't have any bad songs so you are safe as long as you stay away from Bloodstock footage they had sound issues at Bloodstock and they still rock but the footage and sound don't do them justice.

If I should try to describe Miyako and Midori as performers, I would probably say that Midori is more like Kirk Hammet it terms of shredding, while Miyako is more like Edie Van Halen in terms of tecnicality. But together they play with the chemistry of Murray and Smith between them (as Iron Maiden is admitedly the greatest influence of the band).

The band’s guitarist actually wrote a song that was to be their twin guitar masterpiece to rival DragonForces “Through the Fire and Flames,” which up to this point was considered the best twin guitar solo ever. The song is Lovebites “When Destinies Align,”and it compares well with any solo ever played at anytime in rock/metals history.

There's no doubting their musicianship, but where was the bass solo!? Also, I think between the strobe and bad camera timing, it made the drummer look like she was barely hitting the drums when she was clearly kicking ass! The best dual lead guitars would have to be as you mentioned, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and before they split, Slayer. Most excellent, more please!

After playing to a less than capacity crowd at Hammersmith Odeon, I have a chance to interview the Biscuit City Bakers aka BCB. The band consists of John Wolfingham drums, Paul Chambers bass end vocals, Peter Samwell Smyth keyboards, Jeffrey Leicester rhythm guitar and vocals and Izzy Iridium lead guitar and vocals. Tonight’s concert was the first on the tour supporting the release of their first album titled “reversing light.” When asked about the title, drummer Wolfingham spoke up” it’s like going back from light to dark.” So, it’s a dark metal music. “We don’t want to be labeled is this or that.” Leicester responded. “It can be dark; it could be light.
