As a recently graduated senior, it's SO important to not get too upset bout not getting into your top choice. Like, albeit, it was your top choice but there are so many great schools out there and it's a process, most of the time students aren't rejected based off of their own merit, but whether or not "they'd fit in." I didn't get into my top choice school, after applying to 22 schools, but in the end I'm going to a great school and it's such a better fit for me ( and in my opinion, a better institution to have the full fledged "college experience) so keep your head up when you start applying! :)

ALSO LMU IS AMAAAAZING. I know so many people who go and went there and love it and have no trouble finding jobs after they graduate

I'm from Los Angeles and my friend goes to LMU. She really likes it and has no complaints on diversity. Pepperdine has an incredible location (quite far from the main city and things to do) but yes it lacks a lot diversity. So you made a great choice on choosing LMU. omg I was considering a lot of the same schools as you, and I actually ended up choosing chapman--- EASILY the worst decision i have ever made lmaooo i found it super vanilla and highkey problematic on so many levels. so far everyone who has gone there from my high school in history has transferred out by sophomore year (i personally only made it 3 months) so you might've really dodged a bullet there sis!! Hey Liya! I am going to give you food for thought since I am a rising junior who is transferring out of a college in california back to the south where I live (Atlanta) this fall. Please, please, please, Look for things you like in the school besides financial aid, & being close to LA. ex: Sororities, Programs, Sisterhood, History/traditions Also look into HBCUs, maybe do a little traveling to explore options. Picking the right college wholistically can save you a lot of problems in the future.

So I only applied to two places that are both in state, and got in to both. I actually went with the much bigger school that I never anticipated being accepted to. YES Liya! Finally being done with apps, scores, etc and finally knowing where you will be post high school is an amazing feeling. I got into my dream school, and at first it didn't feel possible for me due to financial aid and my SAT score wasn't the best, but I got in and was so fucking hype lol. The financial aid wasn't that great though and at first it didn't seem possible, people telling me to take another route, but I knew that's where I wanted to go. It was kind of calling to me lol. Use this summer to brainstorm your personal statement. Once school starts its going to be hard balancing school work and college applications. Trust me 😥😅 Everything turned out well for me but I do wish I started earlier. 💪
