Thank you!! Montessori is definitely the heaviest influence, working on putting together our homeschool curriculum for when she turns 2 next year and going to start pulling from some other philosophies as well I think! Stay tuned haha -- if you have any others you like I'm all ears!

Hi friends! So the last week of Sept 2020 it looks like Lovevery updated all the 12-24 month (1 year old) play kits to include less items and also opened up a “shop” where you can buy discontinued and current play kit items for 40% off if you’re a subscriber (all the details here link in description (find the "update" note) Here are my updated thoughts as of Oct 2020: The Babbler play kit is still 100% worth it IMO. The items in it will REALLY last and are some of my favorites. At 20 months my daughter is now able to take the bottom off the “coin box” and I think would LOVE the changeable tops… I would 100% SKIP the Pioneer play kit. I don’t think it’s worth $120 AT ALL and am really disappointed in this change. The Realist play kit I’m on the fence about BUT thing it’s still worthwhile after looking at some comparable items on amazon (e.g. the lockbox similar on amazon was $60, the “felt critter pockets” was $30). My daughter has a 3d geo puzzle and LOVES it and I know she would LOVE the little number/counter push box. So I think this is still overall good - the reason I’m on the fence is I think the cup is stupid and the “checkup book” is my LEAST favorite of all the books we’ve ever gotten from them… The Companion: I’m on the fence. The items are great and definitely get a ton of use in our house, but a lot of the items you can find comparable on Amazon for $15 (so about $5 less than the kit). The amazon ones are much uglier though so if you love aesthetics keep that in mind. Personally, I'd probably get it, but if finding the cheapest item is what you care most about it's probably not for you.

I know its expensive but i feel the kits are worth it. I have 2 older kids and i bought this for my youngest. I thought ugh its so expensive but hey they wont be little for long it’s an investment. Some toys seemed to come before he was ready but its ok. He was born 4 weeks early. The reading material gives you so many ideas to use them in flexible ways depending on the stage of development. They are made so well. And Lovevery will replace any defective product. Im planning to pay for the full second year up front from savings and auto pay myself back every month to make it like I’m getting the cheaper rate 😅 I dont focus on independence yet he’s only 7 months but compared to my other 2 he is SO interactive with the world around him so super inquisitive and interested. And i cant help but wonder if it’s something to do with working with these play kits. I feel like i can literally see his little baby mind blossoming before my eyes 🥰

I *think* that'll work! You have to subscribe, and according to their blog post (linked in the description) once you get that box/it ships you'll get a link to their shop where you can get the discontinued items. Obviously I don't work for them and already have these so that just my best guess after reading their post!

Okay so would you say that these toys last longer than the 3 months that it’s meant for? It seems like a lot just for 3 months but it seems many of these toys can be used longer, and can also be used in multiple ways after the skill is mastered. Have you noticed that as well?

Yep! I've done reviews on each play kit individually where I talk more about that (most of the reviews are done where I've already had the play kit for 6 months to a year). The 3 months is just the introduction age. My daughter at 2.5 years old still plays with items going as early as the 7-8 month kit (inspector)

@@theconfusedmom great! I just started my 3 year old on it who will only get 3-4 kits before 4, then I’ll have those for my son. I started my 10 month old as well. I wish I did it from birth with my daughter then I’d have them for my son, but I didn’t have the money when she was born. I’m excited! The fact that the baby gym can also be a tent is like amazing. My daughter would still love that at 3, so I wish I started then.

Have you had the subscription link to see the costs of the discontinued items? I know they have said 40% off but are they costing these based on the spilt in the box or what an individual item? Little People, BIG DREAMS Learning Cards: 40 Fascinating Fact Cards I also wondered how long your daughter played with the tissue box to what age?

Hi! I have not seen the shop link - if you see it, let me know (DM in IG @theconfusedmillennial! I'm DYING to see it!)! My friend is getting her next box next month so I'm going to ask her to show it to me! -- I got all of the 1-2 boxes at 12 months and haven't decided if I'm going to get the 2-3 boxes. -- My guess though, is that the items are going to be priced as individual items, not based on splitting the items in the box. --- The tissue box she will randomly pull out and play with (I think I said in that specific box review it was like an "ok" item); the COIN BOX though (different, the tissue box is from baby boxes, coin box is from toddler boxes), she plays with a lot! She finally was able to start getting the bottom of the box off by herself this past week and think she would've loved all the new lids they updated the Babbler with!

Hey so this is what I found so far in my research of stalking other comments haha! The garden puzzle is $20. The 40% off the items is ONE time - not continuous and there’s a 9.95 shipping unless you spend over $75 dollars. :(

Ah that’s really interesting, I actually got my daughters box of the 13-15 months shipping notification (I decided to get this 3 months early as I was so curious) so once I get the link after getting the box I will confirm all this to you through DM instragram. Sadly it’s disappointing it looks like to get all the discontinued items it’s will cost an extra $50-70 including shipping I’m guessing meaning the full kit is approx $180-$200 eeekkk!
@theconfusedmom
@theconfusedmom 3 жыл бұрын
@@lisad1090 Ahhh I'll keep my eyes peeled! Super curious!! And honestly, I gave my daughter the babbler, pioneer, realist item by item starting at like 12 months and didn't wait for the "recommended" window, and by 16 months she had played with all the companion (21-24 month box) toys. I just rotate them and only leave like 8 toys in her playroom at once. /// If it costs $70, and you're not in a super rural area, I'd honestly buy an extra item or two and resell it to get the free shipping. Look in your area first to make sure there is a market, but Lovevery toys have a great resell and typically sell fast. Or you can sell on ebay and have the buyer cover shipping. But I'm a nut and sell all sorts of stuff on ebay haha so i know that's not for everyone and some would rather just pay shipping haha. Ok, thank you for coming to my ted talk. ;)

Awe congrats! I did all my 0-1 play kit reviews after my daughter had turned 18 months(ish), so whatever I said in those is pretty accurate for how they held up past 1 year... with that said they have made some changes to the under 1 kits, and have some more coming. I'm pregnant too and planning to go back through them in more detail with regard to the changes, dupes, and how my second baby does with them... but I know timing wise that's probably not a help at all right now since that won't be till later in the year... at a quick glance, though (so I'm not just rambling and at least semi-helpful haha) We still use stuff from the looker, and know we will with baby #2...while I love the mirror in the charmer, if I was being *super* choosey I'd probably skip it... senser is good, inspector is 100% must have, I love the explorer and stay tuned for my thoughts on the thinker!

They’ve drastically reduced the number of items included in the kits. For instance, the Pioneer kit that you reviewed no longer has the puzzle, cards, ball, mouse or mirror-and there’s only one book instead of two. The price, however, remains the same.

I wrote to them and then saw the same post about why/how they made the changes before I read your reply. It’s a bit frustrating that they’re implying that they’re doing subscribers a favor by including fewer items, and then offering a wonderful opportunity to spend more $$ by purchasing the missing ones.

I just bought my first box this week so I can help break it down. If your child is under 1 year old then you get a box for 2 months (7-8, 9-10, 11-12). One box is $80, or roughly $40/month. Maybe it does down to $36/month with a discount code?
@theconfusedmom
@theconfusedmom 3 жыл бұрын
They call it "$36 a month" because of the 10% discount at step 2 on check out. The boxes come every other month like I said that first year... so $36 a month comes out to the full price of the box which comes every other month.
